Going back to an old favorite- Eileen's Dream. Usually, once I open a tin of Eileen I am unable to stop smoking it until its gone.

Began the day with exquisite Mac Baren HH Vintage Syrian in a Mauro Gilli Squat bulldog, and continue with Pesse Canoe Oriental Flake in a Ropp 331c and ended with a long and very pleasant Pesse Canoe Latakia Flake 40 smoke in a small Canadian pipe Dunhill shell briar 31091. Very few days a year I´m fortunate enough to enjoy three bowls!!!

More Eillen's Dream in my Baraccini author. I am starting to really like author's. They look absurd next to my face and are way too heavy and cumbersome to clench when out and about. At home however, I love the large bowl- both for capacity and how it feels gripped in my hand. I am eyeing a Savinelli 320KS....

Not a style of pipe that I usually pay much attention to, but even saying that, more than a few 320KS pipes have caught my eye 👍

Savinelli makes two authors, the 320 and 321. The 320 is shorter and has a wider bowl (23-24mm) the 321 bowl is 20-21mm. Both are fantastic smokers and iconic models of the brand.

They both look great. Having never smoked either, I want both, but will likely only be able to get 1. Do you like 321 or 320 better? Or are they both great and I will have to get both at some point😂

I used and smoked both. Both superb smokers. They are the precedent of my love for squat bulldogs. I liked better the 321 because I don´t like very wide bowls. Simply a matter of personal taste. For complex blends, a wider bowl will work better. I´m a Latakia addict so A normal wide bowl (20-21mm) works better for me.

Love my 320. Nice big bowl yet small enough for the travel case. Great for English blends!

I was tempted to buy it. In fact, I owned one identical years ago. A Punto Oro for 85€ is a bargain, but the wider bowl...does not work for me.

One of the most classic English blends. And suppose it will continue to be manufactured in the traditional way, in spite of Samuel Gawith is now the property of Gawith & Hogart.

Started with Bayou Morning Flake in a Savinelli straight billiard.

Currently enjoying some HU Tobacco Director’s Cut in a BriarWorks Classic. A fantastic blend, but I only have a few smokes of it left. I can feel a trip to Germany coming on!

Director’s Cut is a true benchmark classic. In reading your post I realized I haven’t smoked any in at least a year. I’m going to remedy that 🙂

This evening I’ve been smoking a blend I made myself, though I can’t take credit for the recipe, comprised primarily of Prelip, Virginia, Dark Air Cured and Perique. I will continue to smoke it for the rest of this evening I’m sure, it turned out fantastic.

Thanks, I cut it into flakes and broke it up to jar it (what’s shown in my picture) but I’ve been liking it best rubbed out all the way. I will probably try just stuffing it when I smoke it in a larger bowl.

I have pulled myself away from Eileen for a day. Dark Twist in a Country Gentleman cob. After seeing Ted's creation I think I am going to seek out some perique.

Having a bowl of Wessex Brown Virginia Flake  in my DIY churchwaren.

My wife and I just got back from the Muletown pipe show last night. Got to watch Jeremy Reeves show how he made this year's version of Muletown Mixture. I only talked to him for just a second. Told him I really enjoyed the new version of Sansepolcro. My wife and I are bot very social people so we didn't talk much while there. Picked up some blends in the the Briarworks shop and stopped by Nashville Cigar and picked up a new pipe and a 5 year old tin of GL Pease Six Pence.

It's our anniversary this month and this was my first pipe show. We had a good time

They used to have two a year in Newark NJ. Then it went to one. Haven't seen anything about it since covid but I think they had one last year?

I met Richard Carlton Hacker and Erik Nording there one year. I got both of Hackers books autographed by him.

That was a great show!

The New York pipe club may list when and if they will do another show in Newark.

I would love to go to a pipe show. The closest (that I know of) is in Vegas. Haven't been able to swing that yet. Really cool that you and you wife went and had fun!

RO Firestorm in a cob. This definitely satisfied my perique craving! A pretty intense and flavorful smoke that, if I am in the mood for, was outstanding.

I'm smoking some Exhausted Rooster in my Diplomat cob on this beautiful day.

Though my favorite chipmunk lost half his tail in a fight with a raccoon. 😠

That’s sad. I have a possum that I’ve been feeding for at least a year. It takes food out of my hand and lets me pet it. Last month I heard animal screams on my porch, a raccoon was attacking the possum. I had to pry the raccoon off of it. Messed the little guy up pretty bad, but it recovered. Bad raccoon!

Pipe Force Episode VI, in a BriarWorks Classic. I took a chance when I bought 10 tins of this before even trying it! But, I love the component tobaccos and I trust the judgement of Ted, and others, who all said it was fantastic. Well, they were right! It is fantastic! I’m so glad I took the chance 😊

I’m glad to hear you like it. I just love the berry type flavors from the stoved Katerini and Perique combo. I have a feeling it’s going to age really well too.

There’s just so much flavour to get your tastebuds around! It has depth and complexity - and that’s after smoking it straight out of the tin! It’s going to get even better! Wow! 😄

I’m a little jealous, the label changed since I bought any. Mine is a spiral staircase but you got a kitty cat 😢

totally agree with Ted. a kitty is far superior to a staircase...
