CAO Eileen's Dream

(2.91)
Inspired by CAO's flavorful Eileen's Dream Cigarillos, this blend begins with a base of quality Virginia and black cavendish leaf and then infuses the same with a frothed cream that's been laced with superior Irish whiskey and coconut milk, followed by a subtle mixture of hazelnut paste, ground almonds, cocoa and vanilla extracts.

The arona once u opened the tin is magnific, supreme, i had to hold myself not to take a tobacco strip and eat. IMO the best aromatic, nothing less than it. You dont feel the heavy chemicals the 'aros' used to carry. Doesn´t cover your tongue in a thick layer of PG. Burns very well, no need many relights, smokes dry. The tobacco flavor is the main actor here, the background switches from cocoa to vanilla, nuts and cream. The cigar leaf provides the body that the aromatics are not used to have. its a grade AAA tobacco you should give a try.

When I started smoking pipes many years ago I took on a few blends: Borkum Riff Bourbon Whiskey, Captain Black Original, CAO Eileen's Dream, and Peterson Sherlock Holmes.

I decided to get back to all of these and review them after all these years. See if they bring any memories, do I recommend them or not now that I got more experience?

Here's my #4 and last review: CAO's Eileen's Dream.

First of all, the tin note is outstanding. I mostly get Vanilla and coffee, maybe with some dark chocolate. One of the best tin notes out there.

There's a lot in it when you smoke the blend and I'm not sure I can detect it all. Whatever it is, it has a perfect balance. The cigar leaf is very mild and only adds a bit of volume to the mixture. The black Cavendish is noticeable, as is the sweet Virginia base. In terms of added flavor, the vanilla takes the lead and maintain its flavor throughout most of the smoke, backed by that same coffee note and bit of dark chocolate that I got from the tin note, which gives it a beautiful twist from the other Vanilla blends. This is not a super-sweet blend, though.

Comes in a little moist. Let it dry for a bit. Ribbon cut, easy to pack, light, and smoke. Doesn't get too hot, doesn't bite. The flavor is fairly consistent. Average number of relights. Can be an all-day smoke.

Mild-medium in body, mild in strength. The aroma is fantastic and will make people around you happy.

There is a famous Israeli song that begins with "May it never end". That's what came to mind when I reached for my almost empty tin. I'd buy a few more tins of this blend. When it comes to aromatics, it's definitely one of my favorites.

The creamy vanilla & white chocolate note is apparent when first opening the tin, and upon first lighting. A bit of hazelnut comes through as well, though doesn't seem as strong. All of these flavors I get throughout the entire bowl, though everything fades as you go. At times I do get a bit of the virginia tobacco especially towards the end. It lists cigar leaf but I have not yet detected it during a smoke.

Fairly moist, and leaves moisture at the bottom of the bowl. Didn't notice I had to relight it more than normal.

Amazing fragrance, and an awesome combo of flavors as you smoke. A must for the aromatic lovers.

Even though this tobacco was ready to smoke directly from the tin I let mine air for about 15 minutes on a paper towel before loading my bowl. After the char the tobacco fired right up for a very pleasing smoke with only one re-light needed to finish the bowl.

The tobacco has a wonderful tin aroma of vanilla and chocolate with a pleasant musty tobacco odor in the background. When smoked the vanilla and chocolate fad to the background with mild tobacco flavors coming to the front. The vanilla and chocolate are always present but they are never full-frontal they stay in the background making each draw on the pipe interesting and tasty.

Unlike with many aromatics I suffered no tongue bite with this tobacco. It was enjoyable from beginning to end.

For me, Eileen's Dream will become my early morning smoke. It's great with coffee and helps start the day on a pleasant note. I highly recommend this tobacco.

Eileen's Dream is an aromatic tobacco I would find on every pipe smoker's "aromatics to try" list. I ordered this blend along with many others from SmokingPipes.com not knowing what to truly expect. Upon opening the tin notes of cream and chocolate can be detected, but its not very strong. After packing this blend and lighting it, I was blown away by how good this blend actually is, some aromatics go overboard with the flavouring, but Eileen's Dream makes it work with the tobacco, meaning you get a mild Virginia flavour with hints of the chocolate and cream! The cream flavour is more prominent than the "chocolate truffles". Overall I was impressed with this one and recommend it.

I'm not a big fan of aromatics, nor liqueur-added tobaccos, in general, though a good chocolate or vanilla, or even a high-quality cherry (eg, Peter Stokkebye Chocolate Bon Bon) will hit me right. Eileen's Dream is just damn good. I get more chocolate than Irish Cream in the tin note, but it is delectable. Moisture was just about right and it sang to the match and burned well, with great flavor to the bottom of the bowl.

I have a diabolical chemical sensitivity that makes most aromatics off limits. For example, Prince Albert burns my tongue up. This one did not. It could use a tad more tobacco flavor, but those less addicted to nicotine will find the taste and strength level just fine. I'm not much of a fan of CAO tobaccos in general, but ED shines. If you like a whiff of chocolate now and then, you absolutely have to try it.

I just picked up a tin of this to try. First smoke was excellent. Cracked the seal on the tin and the first nose was fantastic if you are A Bailey's fan ans white chocolate fan (who isn't). Packed easily using the tried and true gravity/tamp x3 method, perfect. I was a little concerned with relights due to the moisture, but I was surprised that after the charring light, I needed no other relights. The real flavor of the Irish Cream and white chocolate come out about 1/3 the way into the bowl, fantastic flavor not overpowering or oversweet. Very reminiscent of a good Nougat blend but more complex depth to my palate. Get some of this as a nice after dinner smoke. Room note A+. Value is also good at less than $10.

I am rather new to smoking a pipe being that I am more of a cigar smoker, but I have now embraced the pipe more recently. This blend is my favorite so far. It has a great taste and room note. My wife does not mind the aroma at all, in fact she is rather fond of this blend. It does have a slight aftertaste but I like it. I highly recommend this blend
