I’m continuing to smoke GH Rum Flake. It’s so humid here today that I’m having to dry it out in the toaster oven.

Welcoming my newest pipe in style - “Chip’s” first bowl will be… 🤔💭

McClelland Frog Morton’s Cellar

…paired with water (I’m doing “Honey-Do” chores in the garden.)

…and a good smoker, too! …my first ever smoke in a meerschaum. Finding this one requires holding by the shank, as the wax on the heated-up bowl gets soft. Is that normal?

After a fresh wax, when the bowl is nice and warm/hot from smoking, it’s a good time to wipe it down/polish it up a bit. I usually need to do this for the first three of four smokes to finish the waxing process, although I usually use a heat gun sparingly during waxing and final polishing, which does away with the issue. Even then I find a polish or two for the first smokes to be a good idea.

Nice pipe! 👍 You probably know already but, just in case, it will take about 4 or 5 bowls until the meerschaum has absorbed enough of the tobacco “juice” and you start to taste, and feel, the full benefits.

You have some great pipes!

New-to-me tobacco: G.L.Pease, Union Square. A straight Virginia that doesn’t bite, has enough nicotine to satisfy and relies on top grade leaf (without any flavourings) to deliver a very satisfying smoke. I suspect this is going to move up my rankings as it ages. Excellent stuff!
Smoked in a Savinelli Armonia Bent Dublin and accompanied by a gin & tonic, (I’ve worked hard and the sun is shining, so I reckon it’s deserved! 😊)

My tobacco order came!  My first order of business was a bowl of Elizabethan Match.  This was a fraction of the price of other VaPers and it was a very good smoke!  I will be tinkering with it a bit and I am sure I will have a very nice result at a sustainable price.  Great suggestion Ted!

Hmmm. Just read about that. I should keep up on what our insane legislature does more often.

Me too.

I figured it out at checkout on Smokingpipes.com.  My mom lives in WY. It might do her good to get out and forward a package now and then. 😂

It’s a busy Monday, but I’m squeezing in small bowls of GH Dark Bird’s Eye in an antique meerschaum.

Sillem's Councilor in a Vauen Luxus today.  Which, after Ted's pipe picture above, makes me feel like I'm smoking a cigarette butt I found in a sidewalk ash tray.

Wessex brown virginia flake in a cob. I've had this tin for almost 2 months. It's not bad but I'm not too impressed either.

I've been wondering. I thought it might be Germaineish.

I hiked over 10 miles today. This cob full of OJK is especially nice.
