I love Virginia blends and this is a good one. Upon opening the tin I was greeted with notes or raisins, figs, plums, etc. The tobacco packed easily and stayed lit throughout, with a good volume of smoke. Surprisingly, I was able to smell/taste the raisins, figs, plums, etc. as I smoked. I was looking for a Virginia with a pinch of pepper in the background and found it with this mixture. Like all Davidoff tobaccos, the quality is outstanding, and I definitely recommend you try this one. This tobacco will stay in my rotation.

I had several tins of this blend.it has a good quality of tobacco with balanced aromas between nuts and dried fruits.packs easily lights easy too.while smoking you get mostly nuttynes and sweetness from the topping not from the virginias.burns from normal to hot depends on how you treat it.at he beginning till the end the flavour remain the same.leaves a bit moist at the end.generally a mild to medium danish mix worthy trying.not a trademark of danish mixtures like the W.O. Larsen's blends

All of the boys here have said way more than I could possibly better. Davidoff is known for its quality, and they have certainly delivered on this number. Good smoke. Burns and smokes well, with a very pleasant taste and after note. Personally, for what it is, I couldn't ask for any more. It's an excellent product, carefully constructed and delivers and excellent pipe smoke. Very well crafted. Highly recommended for a light aromatic.

Bought a tin of this one in Paris as I was looking for a decent aromatic at the tobacconist and apparently bulk tobacco is unheard-of in France. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised! Very mild flavor and an amazing room note. Gives off the scent you think of when you imagine 'aromatic pipe tobacco'. I say it's mild, but not in a bad way at all.. no zing or bite even if pushed. I find the moisture perfect out of the tin but it must be gravity fed loosely and packed only on the top to start. The ribbon cut packs nicely and stays lit. The smoke smelled so good my wife even asked to try it and did! Definitely one I would buy again I just wish it was a bit cheaper, available in bulk, or both. You can tell when smoking that this is top quality stuff.
I now keep several tins of this cellared.

This is just awful. Smell out of the tin is offputting. It is the same smell I notice with a lot of the STG modern aromatics (Stanwell, Larsen).
In Germany, we have a souce called Maggi Würze (Maggi seasoning like maggi herb / Lovage). I just hate that in my tobacco.
Unfortunately, this smell is quite dominant in the taste, and it is there till the end of the bowl. Even after airing it out it stays.
In the very background there is some maple and honey-ish taste? But not very distinctive.
The tobacco base seems ok, but not great nor much better than the other STG aromatics, but with much less black cavendish.
Awful, awful, awful.

Surprisingly mild and well-balanced aromatic with slightly sweet aroma and flavours. Presentation is of mostly light honey-coloured ribbons, with perfect level of moisture. Easy to pack and light. Leaves fine ash and does not bite until pushed. Some users commented on presence of cavendish - it actually is minor (at least in comarison to Davidoff's Red Mixture). What I mostly detected are blended virginias with some burley and a hint of cavendish. Flavouring is subtle and not very complex. It tends towards figs and raisins, which remain consistent throughout the bowl without any late bitterness. This consistency earns "Danish Mixture" top marks from me. Whether or not you like mild aromatics, the quality of tobacco used by Davidoff for his pipe blends is high and consistently reliable. The cut is fine but retains enough structure to allow long, consistent smoke. For those of us who live in places where pipe tobacco is expensive or hard to find, it is a blessing that Davidoff blends are available as duty free when travelling.

A mild and subtle smoke, with a room note that is reminiscent of fresh bread or pastries. I have smoked this blend a few times and never found any issue with keeping it lit, or with tongue bite, although the full extent of its flavour doesn't come out until part way through the bowl.
Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a mild smoke, with a warm, countryside sort of aroma.

Bought a tin of this because of the praise it gets everywhere; often claimed to be the best danish mixture around. Well, looking at the price of the 50 gram tin (about 12,50€ in Germany), it better should be... After opening, one will see rather thin cut, medium to long fibres of tobacco in color ranging from almost yellow light brown to medium brown. The smell reminds me somehow of raisins, but not in a bad, harsh way, rather light, very natural. Moisture after opening is perfect, no further airing needed before smoking. The blend lights alright, tends to burn hot and get bity, so smoke carefully. Taste reminded me of Mac Baren's Mixture Scottish Blend, just without the slightly overdone honey-topping and an overall lighter smoke, with just a very little hint of vanilla (?) flavouring.
I was a little disappointed at first by Davidoff's Danish Mixture, since it is pretty similar to MB's Mixture at almost double the price. By now, I can say it is a decent mixture, but has nothing too special about it. Somehow recommended, but not a "must have".

Top quality tobacco as you'd expect from Davidoff.
Oh boy, is it expensive or what ? Nearly £14 for 50g.
Is it worth it ? Well yes I think it probably is.
Superb tin aroma as other reviewers have said. It's a little on the dry side and comes in a round tin with a round paper cover that even has a thumb/finger shapre pressed in it for ease of access. All this topped off with the usual ruff.
It's golden brown and so dry I had to dig it out with a pipe tool. A little rubbing then it's ready to load. Delicate touch here will reward you with a fine lengthy smoke that needs few relights.
Taste (inevitably) doesn't reflect the opening tin aroma, but it's still quite sweet with a mild subtle taste. Some of these Danish blends can be a little harsh and bitey, but this one is unlikely to bite unless your'e a demon puffer.
Well worth a try if you're into aromatics and feeling a little flush, and well worth having in your collection.
