This is just awful. Smell out of the tin is offputting. It is the same smell I notice with a lot of the STG modern aromatics (Stanwell, Larsen).

In Germany, we have a souce called Maggi Würze (Maggi seasoning like maggi herb / Lovage). I just hate that in my tobacco.

Unfortunately, this smell is quite dominant in the taste, and it is there till the end of the bowl. Even after airing it out it stays.

In the very background there is some maple and honey-ish taste? But not very distinctive.

The tobacco base seems ok, but not great nor much better than the other STG aromatics, but with much less black cavendish.

Awful, awful, awful.

When opened it smelled like bacon, so I was put off and let it rest for a month or so. Then I gave it a try and found something totally different. Tin aroma was sweet, like some sort if berries. It invited me to smoke it and..... revealed its true nature: I wouldn't classify it as an aromatic in the way as the red-green-and-blue series. The Danish Mixture's aroma is... flat, a little bit citric, but nothing else. It is not unpleasant but not as inviting as I expected.

Regarding its flavour, I surprisingly found it spicy. The description at Davidoff's website says it has Virginia, Burley and Black Cavendish tobaccos. Not Latakia nor Perique.

It burns hot (could be because of the Virginias) but without tong bite. Produces abundant nice creamy smoke.

I'll let the tin rest for a couple of months. Chances are my perception will change. In the meantime I can only say I don't find it as good as other Davidoff's blends.

Terrible bite. I mean really really bad. I am surprised this rating system has room note but doesn't have tongue bite rating: none/some/strong/burn. This would be the last. I'll revisit in 3 years.

I am utterly disappointed with this blend. I tried hard to understand it and discover it's real worth; the qualities it possesses to speak to. I'm sorry to say I found none. Not at this moment. It tastes so completely bland. Perhaps the true qualities will come about when it has aged some. I might return to update this review if I notice any improvement(s) after cellaring. Time will tell. I may then have to recant. But wait a minute: aromatics are not made for aging, which is to say this is as good as it will ever get IMO. In this light, given its cost and the Davidoff signature name, I expected much much more. Would rate it a zero if I could.

As usual Davidoff blows a lot of smoke, but none of it lives up to the name. Frankly this is the third type of Davidoff tobacco I have tried and the least impressive of the three. This liquor cased tobacco attempts to satisfy with quality tobacco but comes up short like the rest of Davidoff's products. Buy yourself a tin of Peterson Irish Whiskey and enjoy a really great liquor cased tobacco! IMHO, Davidoff doesn't make a tin of tobacco that Peterson doesn't outshine...

If I am going to smoke and aromatic, I want to smoke an aromatic. I did not taste much of anything with this blend. The tongue bite was pretty bad. I just couldn't get past the nothingness this tobacco gave me except for the pain on my tongue. For those that like english tobaccos to have a medium taste or an aromatic to taste like the flavoring - stay far away from this one.

I'm sorry to begin my first review on a negative note, but this was a huge disappointment. I bought a tin from an official Davidoff retailer, so I guess that issues of proper storage don't get into it. Fact is, only one word that I know describes this blend, and it's the french "écoeurant". Confronted with Davidoff Danish Mixture, I encountered the same problem I had some time ago with Amphora tobaccos: the smell of the casing is heavy, sticky, sweet and artificial, and it borders on disgusting. I'm trying to get around this by letting it air a lot in a faraway room (even if it's pretty dry from the beginning). Smoked outside it allows for pleasant moments, all in all; indoors it develops an oversweet cloud that satiates your senses way before the bowl is over. Perhaps it's me, but I can't seem to find a way to get on the wavelenght of these tobaccos. Gimme natural virginia any time... When I think that I could have bought a tin of 965 for about the same price, I feel like kicking my own derrière.

I have been looking for a good aromatic for some time, and since I think Royalty is an excellent tobacco I decided to give Danish Mixture a try. It smelt good in the tin but I choked on the first puff. Now I understand what other reviewers mean when they say a tobacco tastes soap. Stay away from this one. But do go ahead and buy a couple of tins of Royalty. That one is a solid four star.

A refined and easy to smoke quality tobacco . Quite expensive for a decent but not memorable Danish mix .

Although not a full aromatic, the semi-aromatic Danish mixture suffers from the problem: hotness. It drives up the temperature and away the notes of honey and figs. It might burn allright for people who do not find the temperature to be an obstacle, but it impeded my cadence and as such the bowl did not burl well.
