Good tobaccos and very nice pipe. Is it because of an optical effect that makes it seem like the mouthpiece is bent or does it have a bit of a curve?

Thank you! and it is indeed bent—a slight turn at before the bit, where you see the light reflecting

Dunbar with a Mastro de Paja. One of my favorite pipes for one of my favorite tobaccos...

A great smoke, and that's a beautiful pipe! Very interesting stem, I like how the wooden mid-stem seems to be stained just a bit darker. It's also briar I imagine?

Yes, that part is also briar, and it is true that it is slightly darker, but not as much as it looks in the photo. It's a little misleading because it's actually not part of the shank but rather the mouthpiece, as I think you've perceptively realized. (Forgive my bad English, as I have to use the translator to communicate with you)

Last night's smoke was Trafalgar by Drucquer & Sons with a Lubinski pipe. The more I smoke this tobacco the more I like it...

Mac Baren London Burley Blend in a Stanwell HCA. My jar of this has been empty for weeks and I kept thinking about it, so I finally built up the energy to dig through my tobacco and grab another tin.

Decided to have a first smoke in the Hilson Fantasia churchwarden I got a week or two ago. I’m smoking Peter Heinrich’s Dark Strong Flake in it.

I suppose you too have smoked Prince Albert. Does he look a lot like Carter Hall? Is it worth having both?

I guess it depends if you like burley. I haven't smoked Prince Albert since they moved to the Dominican Republic so I can't say. And of course you can't get this or the prince in pouches anymore.

I just wanted something simple and cheap to smoke as I have so many tobaccos cellared they will outlive me.

Cater hall isn't an aromatic but it has a top note.

I say take the plunge and if you don't like it I give it away.

The 14 ounce bottle I have from Prince Albert is from 2007 and is from the John Middleton era. And yes, I really like burley. Thanks for your reply 👍

And at night Briar Fox (C&D), from 2007, with a Stanwell. As you will see, the tin in this mixture has changed over the years.

Thanks, I do! That’s not even all of the ones I have either. Although I only seem to end up smoking the one on the bottom.
