Peterson Old Dublin
(3.29)
A supreme style of pipe tobacco based on the renowned cool smoky aroma of Cyprus Latakia. To perfect this delightful tobacco there are selected golden Virginias with aromatic Black Cavendish and sweet Greek grades added to satisfy the fastidious pipe smoker.
Notes: Albeit no flavoring is mentioned in the description, the additives list reveals 3.1 grams of added flavoring to 100 grams of tobacco.

I've been wanting to migrate from Aromatics and straight Cavendish blends to medium/full English blends with Latakia for some time. I've always liked the aroma of Latikia when others are smoking them, so after reading the reviews here on Old Dublin, it seemed there was no time like the present to just do it.
Wow..am I glad I tried this. Upon opening the tin, the aroma of the latakia came through the cavendish and orientals. The moisture level was just like I like it, not to wet or dry, just right. The chopped ribbons loaded easy and burned cool. The Latakia flavor is distinct, but, I could also taste the Cavendish and VA. The flavor was very tasty and complex. The aftertaste was great as well.
This blend impressed and convinced me to try other Latakia blends. So, until my tins of Bufflehead Pintail, Esoterica Penzance, Samuel Gawith Squadron Leader and G.L.Pease Renaissance get here, Old Dublin will do just fine as my everyday smoke

Some compare this with 965. In my opinion these tobacco's are completly different, however there is some likeness. I think that is the Latakia. OD is more "full" than 965 I think. Lights well, burns good and I love the smell of it. My wife does not like the smell very much. She does like 965! So she also smells the difference. I like this tobacco very much!

Very nice blend. Very noticeable progression through the bowl of a natural sweetness of a nutty earth toned quality. Extraordinary finish of the last third of the bowl. Very well rounded flavors...good blending of tobaccos. The Latakia does not dominate(like a guitar soloist gone awry) as in many Latakia themed blends. All the flavors begin and end well making a harmonious unique statement on the palate that sets this blend apart as an excellent tobacco creation. I find this a good, all day smoke. Not too heavy and with a unique, high quality tase experience to offer.

This was one of me first real english blends, and I'm glad that it was. Tis a fine smoke by all accounts, just the right amount of lovely latakia for this Irish lad. Smokes full and clean to the bottom of the bowl and leaves a satisfied smile on me face. Most of me favorite Scottish/English blends will draw scorn from me wife(the fine Irish lass that she is), but not OD! This is me favorite tobacco from me friends at Peterson. Highly recommended.

I find the mix of reviews on this quite wonderful. While I enjoy some heavy Latakia once and awhile, OD is rather clean, thanks to the Virgina and Basma in it. There is enough Latakia to give you the impression that Seamus just tossed another lump of peat on the fire, but not enough to drive you out of the house. One of the reviewers described this as middle-of-the-road. Sometimes the middle is a good place to be, and OD is solidly in the middle. It packs well in just about any pipe you put it into. It tamps just fine, not too wet, burns fairly cool, and seems to get better in the tin as time goes by. When you can't decide exactly what to take to work with you, or on a trip, Old Dublin is a good travelling companion - neither offensive nor meek.
