Lane Limited HGL
(2.91)
Toasted cavendish is laced with mountain Latakia, then blended with white burley and golden Virginia to produce a sweet, fuller-bodied smoke, yet cool and slow burning. The Lat is used as a condiment, not to build a Lat-bomb.
Notes: This is Lane's RLP-6 with a touch of Latakia added.

When I first got this blend, I thought the first several bowls were pleasant. Then suddenly, without warning, the highly artificial taste of the black cavendish disgusted me. The first half of the bowl is very smooth, but soon after that all of the burnt chemicals cause it to taste like charcoal brickets with lots of lighter fluid. It gurgles a fair bit and gets very gooey. There is very little tobacco flavor here, least of all that of latakia. I love quality aromatics; unfortunately this does not fall into that category. There are just too many additives covering up the tobacco.

I tried this out because I wanted a burley to smoke while I was out camping and it had the most burley out of all the blends at the shop I went to. It got me through the weekend but I dont plan on smoking it again. This blend is just too heavy on the cavendish and while it burns well its sickly sweetness and unpleasant bite makes HGL an iffy blend at best. Definitely not the best aromatic or burley blend I've tried.

Rlp-6 with Latakia added. This one is one that just does not work for me. A forgettable blend in my book. And I like Rlp-6. I'd like to see Lane bring back A-100.
