It doesn’t look like Peterson has picked this one up yet, which is baffling in that London Mixture is a white spot standard. I am not terribly disappointed. This is a medium bodied English blend that didn’t hit the mark for me. Nice cut, high quality tobacco, but there is nothing that sets this one apart. It gets lost in the sea of Squadron Leader, Standard Mixture, Balkan Sasieni, any number of other Middle English blends.

I'd really give this 2.5 stars as it is actually quite a nice blend, but it can seem a bit timid at times due to its "beige" flavour. Nothing actually wrong with it, though when my mouth has been off or I've come to this from a stronger blend, it has tasted a bit flat and cigarettish.
Addendum: I won't be buying this again. While there is at times quite an emphatic taste, it is not one I prefer- think 2 week-old Golden Virginia handrolling tobacco.

I got a tin of London Mixture today from a small shop that specialized in cigars. They didn't have much for us pipers, but I felt I had wasted enough of the shopkeeper's time so I bought some smoke. I didn't like this too much tbh. The tin note was faintly sweet and not particularly appetizing. The tin I had was mostly oriental and had a distinguishable cigarette quality to it. I had two bowls and jarred the rest. I have no intention of smoking any more of this anytime soon. Maybe in a few years this will be great!

This is one of those smokes that did not impress me either good or bad. It was just a smoke. That is sad I usually find some notable points in a bowl of tabocco, however forf once I have very little to say. I quess the best thin I can say is it did have a mild flavor and no bite. So if your looking for a rather nodiscrpt smioke, at least in my judgement this one would be it.

My impression of the current mixture matches my impression from the seventies and eighties versions. A middle-of-the road English whose sole mission seems to be the wallflower at the pipe tobacco dance. A bit wimpy all around, with no qualities that impress or offend.
The Wally Cox of pipe tobacco.
I still smoke it when I don't want to be offended or impressed.

Yawn..... another expensive tin of ho-hum smoke. Yeah, it packs ok and burns ok - but thats about it. Tin aroma promises something that it doesn't deliver.
I hear that this was good back in the day. That's nice to know, but it doesn't do much to help this current offering other than explain why some of the reviewers rate it highly.
Smoking this is kinda' like going out with that boring girl you don't really like - not much fun, but at least you're getting laid. Let's just finish the tin and move on.
2 stars because it's not as bad as the tobaccos I rate at 1; but I really can't recommend it.

Similar to many Dunhills. Quality, But I prefer Nightcap or Early Morning Pipe. If you like those , you will love this, or if you want something you can smoke more regularly than Nightcap.

Very mild english blend. The tag above says that it has Latakia, but I don't taste any. Very mild, a little milder than EMP, burns cooler and complete. Good aftertaste.
It was not bad, but nothing very special about this blend.

It's burning very hot and bites. Flavor's nothing to write home about. A big disappointment since it smells great in the tin - From the scent I was expecting more Oriental overtones.
Hoping I develop at least enough of a taste for it to finish the tin, but I don't see another tin in my future. I think a slower smoker than I would find it less intractable.

A mid range English. Not too strong, Not too weak, Very typical of 'Standard' English style, If you love an English Blend, EMP isnt strong enough for you and Nightcap too strong- This may be your cup of tea.
