This is a full English mixture. Heavy on the Latakia. Any Virginia or Turkish is completely lost in the Latakia. Relatively low in nicotine, less than Early Morning Pipe. Recommended only for those who love the smoky stuff.

Update, I have been smoking this blend for a while now and my review has to change... Sadly, London mixture has gone down in my books, it's ok, the more I smoke it the more I can't get one of the previous comments out of my head, "Damp Dog"... Any he's right, It actually does taste of it! Moved on to Night Cap and Squadron Leader for my English tobacco's of choice now.

This is Nightcup gentle twin brother, though less strong and a bit less rich. Its wetness right out of the tin is perfect. The burn is nice, with no tongue bite at all. Leaves the pipe perfectly clean. Not an all-rounder like 965, but pretty good.
Update 9/15/2012: Somehow I lost interest in it. Too boring, will not buy it again, downgrading to 2 stars from 3.

Not bad. The problem for older chaps like myself is that we still remember the taste of the original Dunhill tobaccos. This is a medium decent English blend, but it should not bear the same name of the old blend because is not even close to the original and tastes completely different. Nothing of the pleasant aroma was left. Fortunately, there are still some new good English mixtures (better than this) around. But the real Dunhills, like the great Balkan Sobranie, are lost forever.

I lit this up and it seems like simply a very mild oriental concoction. I can detect a very small amount of latakia and a bit more turkish but this borders on tasteless, with the Orientals coming to the fore mostly. I was wondering what would help this so I mixed in a bit of Skiff and this helped tremendously, so I would say this just needs some more Latakia. It looks like there is Virginia in it, but it must be a really mild batch because I couldn't taste it. Bottom line: A very mild tasting oriental blend.

Beautiful in the tin, the tobacco is definitely good qualiity. The pungency, saltiness of Turkish is very present in this blend, though it does maintain good balance with the latakia and virginia. It doesn't please my spouse at all when I fire this blend in the bowl. It is a nice change of pace, but that it all that it will serve in my rotation. I suspect that Turkish lovers would particularly enjoy this blend.

Dunhill´s english blends have very good quality, and it is shown in this firm blend. London Mixture is a straight oriental mixture, a well-balanced mixture of latakia and turkish leafs all over a bed of virginia tobacco. I have two major comments: Number one, this blend, good as it is, is a little too dull for me. I hope to make myself clear; I think this is good tobacco and well mixed, but its somewhat flat for me. Number two, I am a HUGE 965 fan, there for almost all Dunhill´s blends (with the exception of the superb Aperitiff, which stands on its own) are less appreciated by me.

This one is a bit confusing for me. I waver between thinking it is great one minute, to not knowing the next. The initial light is a bit harsh and this seems to remain until about half way throught the bowl. Now it smoothes out and I can taste the complexity of the blend. Toward the bottom it is very full but not offensive. All-in-all it is a good English, but I have tasted better>

Yes, he is really good, but still needs a good pipe,But I don't recommend buying it again I only carry about 1/4 of my pipe when it comes to lubricating my car. It lasted until I came back after 30 minutes (10 minutes for an oil change is so much). Considering I look like a Hell's Angel compared to most upscale locals - my smoking from a hand-cut free-bending tube on a bench outside Mr. Good Lube must have been a sight.
Is that crust bubblegum? For some odd reason it kept popping up in my head, but it's not bad. I love enclosures and room notes. It's very fruity, but not overbearing at all. There was very little tobacco smell and I didn't get hit (my first bowl of Highland Targe really made me feel like Highlander kicked me down the stairs).
It's pleasant and light against an English smoky finish. I'm sure friends will enjoy it around a campfire or restaurant, and that in itself might be worth carrying a few with you.
I find that as the smoking continues, I find it more boring. Unlike Deep Hollow, I can still jump in with excitement and smoke.
