Racing Green tastes mostly natural but with minor artificial taste. Those notes come through as vanilla and liquor, sort of a bit like Dunhill's Royal Yacht. However, the strength is nowhere near as strong as Royal Yacht. Also, it doesn't behave at all similarly. There is no bite and it doesn't smoke wet either. It generates a lot of white smoke and can be puffed pretty hard. Nicotine is on the lighter side of things but it's not too bad. This tobacco is top quality for sure, it's tasty and good. I get it and I like it. In fact, I like it a lot. I still prefer Orlik Red, Solani 633 or Cabbies Mixture but for something different and refreshing this one is ideal, especially in the summer months. Highly recommended.

I think reviewer Jakob got it right: this is a semi-aromatic. I did not really get the cream or citrus in the room note, though there is a citrusy smell to the tin and an overlay of stewed fruit, but not heavy. The toppings were done very lightly, hence a semi-aromatic. Nice sweetness from the Cav, which is applied with a light hand but still comes through. Gentle sweetness without the cloying aspect of so many aromatics.
Nicely complex lil' smoke, with the Burley, Cav and Virginia alternatingly forward, lots of good tobacco taste. And it uses excellent tobaccos! Burns well, little moisture, good smoke volume., but not much of a nic hit.

The tin note is very appealing [very similar to Dr Pats Irish Mixture] which led me to expect a much stronger aromatic than it actually is. So I was pleasantly surprised to find this blend is more of a semi-aromatic since the topping does not overpower the taste of the tobacco.
Moisture level was a touch on the dry side. It burns well only requiring a relight if unattended. Burns cool with not even a hint of tongue bite. Very pleasant room note. Mild nicotine. A very well balanced blend.
This is my kind of aromatic. 3.5 stars .... what the hell, I'll round it up to 4.

A WINNER! For the sweet tooth in us all, full-flavored and satisfying... top notch tobaccos, a rotation must have! OGS x 10 in flavor... an aero, but really doesn't seem so... natural tobacco flavors come through victoriously!

Nice light aromatic. Not heavily flavored. The tin note is mild, sweet and citrusy, andcomplements the tobacco flavor nicely. Since some have commented on the name - Racing Green - I'll add my two cents. It works for me. I think of broad mowed grass lawns.
The thing I like about it is it has a nice clean tobacco finish - no ash taste. The smoke tingles in the nose. The Virginias are tasty and very high quality. There is less of the nuttiness i associate with burley. There is almost no nicotine. Best smoked dry.
I don't associate foods with tobacco but sometimes music comes to mind. At the end of a very long day, in the dark, with mellow jazz on the radio, I can taste those flavors other reviewers have been writing about, blended perfectly with the tobacco. Sublime!

Virginas and burley up front. Slightly sweet and spicy as well. A fairly robust blend, but not overpowering. I was not sure I would like this one because of the burly and cavendish, but it's a nice balanced blend and very enjoyable with a cup of robust coffee.

This is a light, Va forward aromatic that is rounded out by some Burley and Cavendish. It is gently sweet with a pleasant room note. It actually gets better as it burns down the bowl. The topping is subtle, and quickly disappears into the tobacco aromas. All in all a very smooth and refreshing experience. These seem to me very high quality tobaccos. Suits a lazy sunny afternoon in the garden with a cold lager.

Great blend, easy to smoke and tasty... Tin aroma a bit fruity, reminds me of muskmelon... I like this kind of mild aromatic, I actually prefer this over Orlik GS which is also brilliant...

I received a sample in my tin society box and as it was an Orlik I hadn't tried yet, I was interested to give it a whorl.
tin/bag note: sweet with some sort of topping for sure. Packing: ready to go from the bag with good level of moisture, easy to pack into my waiting cob. Lighting: Char then relight without any problems. It smoked really well and I only had one relight when it went out.
Taste: Upfront I got the same taste as the smell. Not sure exactly what fruit or liquour. As it burned I picked up more of the virginas in the background along with burley for sure. The Black Cav seemed there to deliver the flavoring.
Overall: Good quality tobacco, but sort of a "non-exciting" smoke to me. Won't replace golden sliced to me, but I wouldn't refuse to smoke it either.

A real surprise. “Racing Green”? What? Castrol 90W topping? Menthol? I think I bought it just because I was ordering some Golden Sliced and wanted to try something different. I stuffed it in a cob just to putter around the garage. I couldn’t stop smoking it.
This is something of a high-end “codger’s blend”, a “burley and bright” for sophisticates. As one reviewer said, it is mostly Golden Sliced but with a little added sweetness from the Cavendish and whatever topping is being used. Every now and then the Malawi will really come through and put me in mind of Peterson’s 3Ps. But where that blend is a serious nicotine punch in the face and an absolute bear to prepare, this is a “stuff and go” pleasure: uncomplicated but not boring, easy to light, easy to keep lit. Good natural tobacco taste, a “that pipe smells good” rating from the audience and no lingering funk in your pipe or your mouth. May replace “Best Brown Flake” as my favorite summer smoke.
