I have always wanted to try Orlik Racing Green and finally decided to buy a tin - based largely on the positive reviews on this site.
Upon opening the tin, there was the quality presentation that I have come to expect from Orlik. There was a faint top note, which I couldn't put my finger on but that is where it ended for me. Lighting up, I certainly would not describe this tobacco as an aromatic in any sense. In my tin at least there was absolutely no flavor whatsoever and none of the sweetness others here pointed out. What I got from this tobacco was a mild-medium strength smoke that tasted like Golden Sliced without a hint of the sweetness. Having also experienced a similar disappointment with the current Erinmore Mixture (and Flake for that matter), I wonder if the new owner - the STG - has dialled back their flavor profile TOO MUCH due to the criticism from many that Erinmore, etc, have been to sweet, heavilly flavored and goopy? Who knows, it could have also just been a bad batch. Either way, by the time a 50g tin passes Customs here in nanny state Australia it ends up costing around $60, so I can't afford to receive tobacco not to my liking.
