As a lover of Black Cavendish, this is one of my favorites and is the best chocolate aromatic that I have encountered to date. It is rich, like chocolate cake with chocolate frosting topped with chocolate fudge. It is cool burning, does not bite, and is a relaxing experience. Of course, it is good on its own but it also lends itself to being combined with other blends. Chocolate Mousse mixed 50/50 with C&D's Peaches and Cream is a pleasantly interesting combination as is a three-part blend of equal portions of Chocolate Mousse, Lane's Very Cherry, and Lane's BCA.

I rate this blend 5 out of 10

This was another blend I tried early in my tobacco smoking career. I was looking for chocolate and got exactly what I was looking for in this blend! It is certainly rich with chocolate both in smell and in taste and for a long time I loved this blend for that fact. I would say it is of mid grade quality as an aromatic in that there is a slight aftertaste and hints of chemical additives in the flavoring, but overall it is pleasant to smoke and much better than your run of the mill gas station type chocolate cigar or something. If you are looking for chocolate, definitely give this one a try.

One thing I have learned from reading reviews on this site is that tobacco tastes are very subjective and just because a lot of other people like (or DON'T like) a blend does not necessarily mean it will be one that I personally enjoy...so for that reason I encourage you to please take these reviews and ratings with a grain of salt.

The only reason I got this was because I've never had tobacco fused with chocolate before—in other words, just plain curious. First off, the bag note was undeniably full of chocolate scent; what I would consider to be a rich, dark chocolate (it reminded me of brownies). I enjoyed the bag note.

Upon lighting, the chocolate additive came through loud and clear, but after the first few puffs it started to disappear. On the snork the chocolate was also present, but, like I said previously, the taste withers away rather quickly. As the bowl progressed the tobacco got hot, really hot, and some other, much less pleasant tastes started to appear; not chocolate, nor anything else I could identify, other than a really odd chemical-like taste (a plastic, faux taste of some sort). A nasty backwash built up along with it.

The first third of this blend was mildly entertaining, the rest not so. My main problem with this blend is WHY? Why would you want to SMOKE chocolate? Geez, I mean, wouldn't you rather be EATING it? It's very difficult for me to get my head around this unholy alliance.

Some would say, I'm sure, the scent is what this is all about, after all, it's an aromatic, but, my gallery not once commented about there being any "chocolate" in the air (though, as everyone knows, I smoke for myself and not others).

So, in the end, this marriage between one of the most healthy and complete foods on the planet (sans processed sugar, of course) and tobacco, really doesn't make any sense to me. Perhaps someone else can explain why this is a good idea, but not me.

My curiosity is now satisfied. No more chocolate/tobacco combos for me (if I can help it).

Keep on pipin'

Candy Store? You're there. Out of the chocolates this is my favorite. Strong chocolate. It's a little like walking up and down the row smelling the offerings and stopping at a spot or two to get the most pleasant whiff. The topping is so much that I have to relight more often, but it's worth it.

I love this stuff. It smells good enough to eat every time I take a whiff of this stuff in the jar. and tastes as good as it smells as soon as I light it. It really is the chocolate taste I've been looking for. I think that if Willy Wonka smoked he'd have smoked this.

Being as this tobacco is blended by a company known for numerous dismal aromatics, the quality of this blend came as quite a shock. A rich, black cavendish cased with a truly remarkable chocolate flavoring. It burns slow, doesn't bite much and doesn't really goop up your pipe either. These attributes were surprising since the feel of the tobacco out of the bag is rather moist.

Out of the several chocolate tobaccos that I've tried, this Altadis creation ranks at the top. A pure and simple chocolate blend that satisfies. Four stars.

This blend came as a bit of a surprise. As a lover of dark semi-sweet chocolate, I had yet to find an aromatic tobacco "labeled" chocolate to really deliver a true chocolate taste and aroma. This one does, and does it well. It is a very rough cut, but packed easily and burned well. The only thing I found that could elicite any real critisism was that it did burn a little on the hot side (it is an Altadis blend), but slow puffing and a couple of relites seemed to take care of the problem.

This is not what I would call an everyday smoke, at least from my standpoint, but it is an aromatic I plan to keep around for those times when I'm looking for something just a little different.

What do you know, this makes 3 Altadis blends that I've found a liking for. Will wonders never cease.

A brief update. With regard to the hot burning tendancies of this blend, I tried a 50/50 mix of the B-30 and Lane BCA which burns much cooler. I had expected that this blend would reduce the predominant dark chocolate flavor, but to my surprise, the blend not only burned cooler, but lost little of the chocolate flavor, and after smoking this mixture for a while actually came to prefer it to "straight" B-30.

What a surprisingly pleasant tobacco! The pouch aroma is very strong chocolate mousse, but the smoke is far more subtle. This is not like smoking a candy bar. The smell and taste is chocolate, but not syrupy sweet, and not even like milk chocolate. More bitter-sweet.

Don't make the mistake I did. I couldn't wait to smoke this when I received it, so I loaded my pipe. The tobacco was limp with moisture, and I used half a tank of butane in my lighter trying to keep it lit. It smoked hot because of the steam from the moisture. Had I reviewed it at that point, this would not have been a very positive review! The smell and taste of the tobacco were diluted by the steam, and it smoked hotter than I'd ever expected.

I spread a couple of pipes worth on a piece of paper and let it dry on an office table for a couple of days. Voila! Not sticky, didn't clump together. Loaded a pipe, and it remained lit...and the chocolate aroma mouth after-taste were wonderful!

Smokes slow and consistent...more than an hour in my medium bowl pipes. I enjoyed every bit of it!
