Peterson gets credit for making unique tobaccos. They only make ~10 blends, but each one is a unique experience, with a lot of craftsmanship. Because they are so unique, ya either tend to like them individually, or you don't.
Sunset Breeze is an interesting aromatic. It is STRONG on the aroma, too much so for some people. It should be noted that it is NOT particularly sweet. (Sometimes not sweet enough.) It is not gooey or sticky, though just a tad moist. Because it is not heavily cased, it does not burn hot.
SB has a unique aroma, different from anything else I am familiar with. I do not get the supposed Amaretto topping. That is OK, 'cause I really don't care for Ameretto. There are perhaps hints of almond towards the end, but this blend does definitely not scream "Amaretto!". For some reason, it reminds me of Rattray's Charles Mixture when first lit, though the similarity ends there.
This is one of the best behaved aromatics I have smoked, cool and w/o bitterness even at bowl's blend. I can definitely see this as an occasional entree in my aromatics rotation, when I am in the mood for something with a bouquet, but not needing my sweet tooth sated.
Oh, yes. The room note is very nice. Gets 5 stars from the wife and fambly.

When I was younger someone was always around to tell me not to judge a book by its cover. I guess the same could go for some tinned tobacco (but not Sunset Breeze). I bought Sunset Breeze because the tin art reached out and grabbed me.
Moisture content was just right out of the tin, and the aroma was full of almonds.
The cut of Sunset Breeze made it relatively easy to pack. The tobacco held a light nicely and smoked straight through the bowl leaving a light-gray ash.
Emerging flavors begun after a slight bite, essence of amaretto similar to the tin aroma. The flavors stayed pretty consistent through the bowl and finished nicely.
This is a great blend and has found it place one of my woodworking blends for in the garage with a slight breeze.
So far I have not received any comments on the room note but from what I noticed the aroma was sweet. I will follow up as I get comments from others.
I must say it took a full tin for Sunset Breeze to grow on me. Now I can say that I would recommend this to all. This will become one of my stocked blends!

Although I have graduated to natural tobaccos, I still appreciate a good aromatic on occasion. Unfortunately, this one just doesn't do it for me. The tin aroma and room note were fine, but I couldn't keep it lit (despite various pipes and moisture levels) and the flavor put me in mind of potpourri. I'm sure that some absolutely love this blend......Please--take my share.

Having been very satisfied with another Peterson offering, Luxury Blend, I was anxious to give this one a try. Excellent! The advertised aroma of Amaretto is somewhat elusive in the tin, with more of a "fruity" presentation, however very pleasant. If you are a serious fan of well blended aromatics, Sunset Breeze will not disappoint you! Even my wife who is a sometimes patient but willing critic admitted she liked the aroma of this one "the best", which for her is just about a rave.
There is no particular tobacco which jumps out as being dominant in the smoke, and after an initial blast of flavor which is as close to the can aroma as it gets, the taste settles down to a medium flavored undertone of citrus, with a subtle Amaretto riding on it. The bowl seems to sweeten slightly near the bottom. The only minor detraction I found, was the mixture seems a bit wet out of the tin, so if you are prone to packing your pipe too tightly, you may find yourself lighting up more than usual. There are "work-a-day" smokes and there are sitting out on the porch relaxing smokes, and for me this one seems to fit nicely in the latter category.

I was almost bowled over by the strong amaretto flavor in this one, the aroma of the tobaccos is almost non existant, but the virginia musty-sweet is there as well as a bit of the burly soapyness.
The tobacco is a multicolored feast for the eyes very bright almost orange pieces, it is not wet by aromatic standards, but a bit moist, i packed it a bit loosely to compensate for the wetness. I tried thios in one of my dedicated virginia pipes, which i hope i dont regret a nice natural 1/8 th bent dublin.
The initial flavor upon char is that of virginia, and not ameretto atr all, but upon relight it did take on a light amaretto flavor which lingerd for the first half of the bowl, the second half was mostly the virginia flavor which i found enjoyable. My wife REALLY enjoyed this blend, which was the reason i got it in the first place anyway.
As far as aromatics go it was excellent, and for the wife pleaseing factor i give this a 3.5 out of 5. and a 4.5 out of 5 on the aromatic scale.

And lustra said, "There are no new ideas in Sunset Breeze. It's just a mild aromatic with a nice room note. What's different about Sunset Breeze, though, is that it's particularly well made. The tobacco is cut very well, doesn't smoke wet, leaves the pipe clean, and it smokes cooly. The taste is consistent--sweet, but not too sweet, and with a real tobacco base--and it doesn't turn bitter toward the bottom of the bowl."
As for me, Amaretto hit hard at first but I think this was because I had been smoking VA's solidly prior to Sunset Breeze. After the initial shock, either I or it settled down. It was everything that lustra said. About 3 or 4 days later, I tried it again and I was ready for it. No shock. Amaretto was nice but I couldn't smoke it all day. I would get tired of it after a while. My wife liked the smell. So did lustra's.

At the moment, it's the best tobacco in my arsenal of "wifely" tobaccos. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you choose to smoke this, but do be sure to use a pipe dedicated to aromatics. I suspect the Amaretto flavor might stick around.

Now and again seeking a little change from my usual Va/Periques I would dip my toe into the world of aromatics. I was first attracted to this one by the very pretty tin and when I opened it I was greeted by waves of amaretto wafting through the room. The tobacco is also very vividly coloured. - unusual! As aromatics go this one is pretty good - you can actually taste some good tobaccos underneath the flavouring and the room note is pretty spectacular too - sure to please even the most battle hardened significant other half. And yet what lets it down is the curse of all aromatics and the reason I don't smoke them more often - the bitter aftertaste I always get for a while after smoking them. Having said that however, if you like aromatics this is one to try for the "unusualness" of it's taste and aroma. There are a lot worse aromatics out there.
