Let me start by saying I have or had two regular blends to which I always turn. CAO Dan's Blue Note for a mild and out in public smoke and Peterson Old Dublin for a good flavorful english smoke. After trying Petersons Sunset Breeze I must now say it looks like it might slowly inch out Blue Note.
Well conclution if you like Blue Note and want better burning qualities ( if this is possible ) and more tobacco taste but still all the flavoring and aroma this is the one for you.
I now stick to the Old Dublin but for cold days, ( then its Mac Baren Navy Flake ) and then I go for Blue Note or Sunset Breeze depending on what flavor I want but sunset breeze I think is winning out as the public around non pipe folks tobacco and the burning qualities are helping it too (cooler burning).
***Update***
Petersons has a new lable for its blends and the sunset breeze is red. It is the same quality and flavor but it has more yellow and orange leaf and less black. This if anything has made it better. Well new but just as good.

This blend should not be passed by for anything less. Exquisite room note, perfect texture and moisture, this blend will smoke well in ANY pipe. Also, just the right amount of flavouring makes this one of my favourite blends. Upon the first light, a delicate amaretto flavouring can be tasted, and will continue to surprise you to the last burning ember.

I smoked 1 bowl and could not brush my theeth afterwards or drink beer. My tongue was grilled! Smells good for non-smokers.

A "tobacco" for the heir. Who is the heir? Ok, we have a little ritual in the family. In the quest for the "wify" tobacco and after debate I buy a tin of a candidate tobacco. After 2-3 attempts in corncobs and Falcons I send the tin to my brother who still hopes I'm wrong. After infesting his Falcons, he gives it to a guy in his work who is simply loving it!! This guy is the heir!! This infests pipes so much that an aluminium stem of a Falcon I own, still smelled like a patisserie 2 months after it was cleaned with pure alcohol. Buy caramels to eat. Buy another tobacco to smoke because still a wify tobacco shouldn't make you quit smoking altogether...

Tin Aroma: I can only describe it as exquisite. The amaretto aroma gives the illusion that the tobacco is good enough to eat. It's a rich melange of fresh tobacco, cherry and almond. It's the type of tin aroma that tempts non-smokers to start!
Room Note: Very much like the tin aroma; wonderful amaretto. The sweet tobacco element shines through a bit more lit than when in the tin, though. My wife finds it a bit sweet, but she's one of those strange ladies who adore latakia! Generally though, the smell of this blend will make you very popular amoungst smokers and non-smokers alike.
Packing: I found it a bit fiddly. Unlike some other reviewers I found the tobacco to be a bit on the dry side which I found hindered this odd mixture in the packing process. Although it says ribbon cut on the tin I found it to be a bit like small wood chips, similar to a cube cut burley but not as even. For example, there are little rolls of virginia that seem like small knots mixed with the little chips of cavendish and a very roughly cut burley. Combined with the dryness it proved difficult to pack; you couldn't quite gravity feed it like a cube cut, but the slightest bit of pressure made it difficult to draw through. I found this quite irritating.
Lighting: Due to the uneven mixture I found this a bit irritating too; it took a few tamps and relights to get the tobacco burning right. However, once underway it smouldered quite well and burned fairly evenly, much to my surprise.
Appearance: An attractive mixture to behold due to the very different textures and array of colours ranging from black to tan, reddish brown and lighter hues of virginia tobaccos.
Smoking: To be honest I was a little dissapointed with this blend. The aroma of the tobacco promises a rich flavour which sadly does not materialise. I'm not usually a lover of aromatics, prefering straight virginia, burley and English/oriental blends. However, I do enjoy the sweet, rich flavours of some aromatics when looking for a change of pace. I can only describe this blend as bland. Having said that, it is a quality aromatic in that the tobacco isn't swamped with candy and you can actually detect decent virginia, maryland and bulrey leaf. The problem is, those quality components with a good tobacco flavour seem very subdued; it's almost as if they need 'beefing' up. The amaretti taste is subtle and pleasant, weaving it's way nicely between the pure tobacco taste which, as I say, needs to be fuller in flavour and less bland. The blend did smoke very cool for an aromatic due, I guess, to the burley component (in the main) and quality aged virginia. The cavendish component also adds a mellow dimension to the overall taste. It burnt slow and even which surprised me due to the odd texture of the mixture. I found it to be very mild in the nicotine department and there seemed to be no rush whatsoever. A 'so-so' smoking experience in my humble opinion.
Pros: A pleasant tobacco which burns cool and slow with just the right amount of topping. The room note is a pure delight. Also, smelling the tobacco in the tin can become very habit forming with this blend!
Cons: Tricky to pack and light and dissapointing in the flavour department, which is a shame because the tobacco is obviously high quality. It's just too bland for me and not what I look for in a good aromatic; I will smoke it again but won't be rushing out to stock up. I can certainly recommend it to try at the very least, particularly if you want your companions to enjoy the smoking experience!

This is one of several aromatics I've tried with a strong plum type sweetness as a background. There is an amaretto flavor. I prefer the Gold Blend over this. Also, the sweetness of this stayed in my pipe even through several subsequent bowls of english blends!

A big winner with crowds, it unfortunately has very little flavor to the smoker. As such, it is largely indistinguishable from most aromatics.

I think this is one of those love it or hate it blends. Put me in the latter category. It burns hot and the amaretto flavoring is not to my liking.
