Delightfully mild and tasty Peterson blend. Left a very pleasent room smell which was even complimented by my non-pipe smoking friends. Lovely for a late evening smoke with a nice glass of Sandemans brandy!

Once upon a time I've decided to enjoy my pipe at my job (there was an opportunity). When I opened just bought tin of Sunset Breeze, my collegues started to ask: "what a smell? what's this?" Tin aroma strikes nose immediately! Okay, than I lit my pipe... Effect was overwhelming! Some of my collegues desided to purchase pipes... Since then I keep PSB in my daily rotation. Pretty nice scent, taste of tobacco combination, slow stable burning play me philosophy tune. Especially in the evening. My favorite!

The tin aroma of Sunset Breeze is absolutely wonderful. When I bought my first pipe as a college student, I went to a Tinder Box in the mall and bought a bulk blend of theirs called ?Amaretto? as my first tobacco. It was my favorite blend for a long time. Much of my affection for Sunset Breeze, therefore, probably comes from the memories evoked every time I open the tin.
It is a beautiful blend visually, too, with lots of golden and brown Virginias. The flavor is very nice, though it can bite easily.

Peterson?s Sunset Breeze blend is a full aromatic pipe tobacco mixture with a rich, sweet aroma and a true tobacco taste.
The tin aroma is strong and smells of a fruit amaretto. This aroma could further be described as being similar to the odor of sweet almonds and ripe plums. Sunset Breeze has perhaps one of the most agreeable aromas of any aromatic tobacco. Although the blend?s aroma is sweet and strong, it is by no means candy-like or obtrusive. The tobaccos that comprise this blend are: Burley, Black Cavendish, and Maryland tobaccos. The color of Sunset Breeze is varied with 50% being a bright golden to a subdued orange, and 50% being a brown/black (no doubt this is the Cavendish).
The cut of Sunset Breeze is a non-consistently shredded ribbon with shapes similar to that of broken corn flakes. The dark colored Cavendish tobacco is in the form of a well-broken flake. No rubbing out is needed. Packing is achieved relatively easily. The initial moisture is quite high, but it can be remedied by drying since no noticeable humectants are present. Although Sunset Breeze is moist, it is in no manner gummy, as many full aromatic blends tend to be.
Sunset Breeze lights easily as the shredded ribbon pieces tend to take to fire readily. The burn is unlike the conventional aromatic and more like that of an English or Oriental blend. The aroma of the room note expelled by the smoking of Sunset Breeze is an accomplishment in itself. This aroma is incredibly pleasant and again resembles that of a dried fruit and amaretto. It is advisable that a pipe be dedicated to the smoking of Sunset Breeze since the aroma of this burning aromatic blend does linger within the pipe.
Surprisingly the taste of Sunset Breeze is not dominated by the topping but rather has a true tobacco flavor. This flavor is consistently sweet but not overwhelmingly so. The bite of Sunset Breeze can be minimized to a great deal by the drying of the blend. The smoke produced is medium/thick.
Peterson?s Sunset Breeze blend is a full aromatic that has a decent burn, an engaging taste, and an aroma that will not fail to please. Sunset Breeze is an ideal example of what an aromatic pipe tobacco blend can and should be.

See my review of Blue Note. Nice aromatic, but way too mild for my taste.

I like this one. It is a nicely blended tobacco and can be very relaxing. I find it does tend to bite a little if care is not taken, but that is the way of aromatics. I will probably go back to this from time to time.

A nice mixture of the tobaccos. The smell of the tin gives you a amaretto delight. A nice mild sweet fruity taste on the palate and the aroma will not offend the ladies or the girly man. Packs well and burns slow and easy. This is my first tin of SB which I got in a Peterson Sampler and it won't be my last. If you are looking for a similar less fruity mild blend, try the Peterson Sweet Killarney.

This is a fine aromatic that I can appreciate fully, (not just because it's made in Ireland) the taste is sweet but never overpowering, and me wife (the fine Irish lass that she is) loves the smell of it. I tend to smoke more english blends these days, but Sunset always has a place in me rotation. I would highly recommend this one to aromatic smokers, as well as those looking for a nice change.

Rich sweet tin aroma, Amaretto is detectable but is not as prevelant in the taste of the smoke which is a shame. Long and leafy cut the tobacco packs IMO inconsistently, often packing down during the smoke... Tricky to determine exact volume. Light is relatively easy, but if a 'gap' develops due to uneven packing it can be hard to keep going all the way down.
Smooth typical nut and cream which is probably the Cav/Burley - what does Maryland taste of?
Ash it light and fluffy and little moisture is produced, however it is easy to stoke up into a very hot smoke, so I adopted the DGT and left about five minutes for proper cooling.
Lovely room note, ideal for a summer evening I would have thought.
