I enjoy showing off my new pipe acquisitions. It’s always much more fun to show other smokers my new pipes, since all of the non smokers in my life just look at me blankly and say, “That’s nice”.

I always enjoy seeing everyone else’s new or newest pipes so what have you gotten recently?

I will start with one I got last month. It’s an estate pipe, an Orlik Luxury. This is how it came to me and I only cleaned it up to make it smokable so far.

My most recent is this Georg Jensen De Luxe S779. For the Birds of a Feather series, it became tradition to inaugurate the first bowl of a tin with my Jensen Granat, a lovely bent Egg in the Danish style. So I thought I'd do the same for the Pipe Force series, but treat myself to a new (to me) Jensen for the new series.

Jensen actually gave some interesting background on this particular shape on instagram a while back: "Actually it is the shape my father desiged and made for himself due to no teeth he needed a very light pipe which could hold tobacco enough for a good smoke. We found the shape wierd so we called it the "Ugly Duckling" because it looked strange but smoked like a dream."

Clean up wasn't too big a task with this one, but here's the before and after

I like these pipes, I was tempted to buy one a while back but talked myself out of it. Seeing yours cleaned up makes me want to keep an eye out for another.

It's a very nice pipe, especially if you're like me a love a good clencher. I'm often smoking my pipe typing so the ease on the teeth is nice. Jensen's comment that it was meant to be light but host a sizable bowl rings true to me. Not that it's huge, but 18mm inside diameter and 36mm depth is pretty sweet for a 22g pipe.

I received a Brebbia Twin 3 convertible over the weekend and just finished an internal cleaning. It was used very little and doesn’t need much, but I’ll probably spruce it up later.

This just came in, Gentlemen! Askwith, Morta, Bent Apple! Simply a work of art. Light weight, amazing feel, and smokes like a champ. I already have him working on a Morta, Devil Anse but, after receiving this little gem, I think I'll ask him for a Morta Poker too. Amazing and talented guy! Cheers!

My last acquisition is this wonderful Mauro Gilli sandblasted bent bulldog. It's a bit big for my taste, chamber is 20mm (0,86¨) diameter and 39mm (1,54¨) deep, but it's a wonderful smoker. I love the shape and the sandblast.

I have looked at those from time to time but I’ve never tried one out. I’d be curious to hear how it smokes.

I have never been big on cobs, but the thick walls, short stem, and reverse calabash chamber really called to me. Plus the torched finish. I am already on my fourth bowl through it, and so far it is great.

Found this at an antique store. Guys says it was made in 1921 Japan. May so, maybe not. But it sure does smoke very well!

I got this Weber Deep Grain Rhodesian from radiant-pipes on ebay recently.

It's so nice, I don't think I will smoke it. I'll put it in my Weber collection.

Arrived today! Just finished some DNR and it smokes like a dream. This is going to be well-used! It’s my first ever Churchwarden and it comes with a shorter stem too. Best of both worlds! 😊

Darn it! I’ve only gone and bought a Savinelli 673KS (Spring). This would be something to celebrate were it not for the fact that I’ve already spent next month’s spending money on a variety of tobacco!

Might be a good time to treat my wife to some flowers/chocolates/perfume/etc.! 😂

Got in the mail today this very nice GBD Century 9438 Rhodesian. The seller said it was from his father's collection and dates from the 1960s.

Recently picked up off ebay this beautiful unsmoked GBD New Standard Bulldog. Bulldogs and Princes are my favorite shapes. And that this one was unsmoked and new in box was amazing. It is going into my collection. I'd love to smoke it, but I have not run across any unsmoked GBD bulldogs. So this one is remaining in pristine condition.

$167.50. Know what you mean. I'm putting myself under the ban. Otherwise it's pipe buyers anonymous for me.

Is that a straight churchwarden? Don't see many of those. The grain looks fabulous. Is it meerschaum lined?

Yes, it’s straight and a full 12 inches long. The Bakelite has a great swirl to it and its meerschaum lined. From my experience collecting, the Hilson churchwardens are super rare. I was really happy to land this one.

A Bakelite bowl? Oh, that is cool. Do you know the age of the pipe?

I’m far from an expert on them but the Bakelite Fantasias seem to have been made in the 1950’s to 1960’s in Belgium.
