Tsuge Premium Pipe Tobacco The Mystery of Autumn
(2.89)
The Mystery of Autumn is a bite free, all day pipe tobacco that marries nutty burley with slow steamed black cavendish and tops it off with a slightly sweet vanilla flavoring for an outstanding aromatic smoke that also offers up a bit of chocolatey flavor from the black cavendish.
Autumn night striking and making it crumble our small talk. - Matsuo Basho (1644 – 1694).
Notes: "The Four Seasons" is a line of aromatic blends that are meant to capture the essence of the four distinct seasons in Japan. They were announced at 2014 IPCPR, and released in late 2014.

The black cavendish is smooth with a mild vanilla taste. The burley is nutty sweet, but, like the grassy Virginia, takes a back seat to the toppings. Both show up a little more around the half way point. The vanilla topping is very creamy, with a light chocolate note. The dried fruit flavor is a little noticeable here and there, less so after the half way point, and never really stands out much. Has very little nicotine. Burns at a moderate rate, though the tobacco is rather moist and may benefit from a little dry time. The taste is consistent, but gets a little syrupy in the last quarter. It won't bite, but will leave moisture in the bowl and just a little dottle. Needs some relights. A nice all day aromatic, though the after taste slightly spoiled by the syrup, which is why I rated it at two and a half stars.
