Smoking now:

Packs and lights fine. Smells sweet for an English. My understanding is this is topped with an sweetened topping.

Has a woody, grassy, earthy quality. The Latakia is in there but it’s very mild and isn’t a smokey herbal type of flavor but a mild earthy quality. Retrohale is pleasant. There is a mild sugary molasses sweetness to this which makes it rather nice. A mild and slightly sweet English blend. Does not bite or tingle the mouth. Something that you could smoke all day. It’s mild, smooth, and not too complex by design.

Burned dry, left a lingering but short smokey after taste in my mouth. Wasn’t unpleasant but it was there. All and all it’s not bad, nothing special but it hits the spot if you like that sweetened Latakia style blend. Very mild flavor. Something I can smoke at my local lounge all night with drinks.

Really enjoy this English blend. As others have said it's lighter on Latakia. I find it to be a really smooth and mild smoke. I think this would be an easier smoke for newer pipe smokers looking for an alternative to aromatics and to try out English blends. I found it reminded me of Sherlock's Choice from Tinder Box, but it's been a few years since I sampled that one.

Lovely campfire smell that fades on the palate, but it is definitely still there. This is complimented by light molasses and dark fruit. Burns easy, dry and requires few relights with a hearty smoke. Overall a smooth, anyday, perhaps all day smoker if you like latakia with a small touch a sweet.

PS English Luxury is a light English blend. The flavor starts out very mild and becomes a bit stronger as tobacco burns down.

At the start, the mildly smoky Latakia competes with the sugary cavendish for center stage, with the latter taking over by mid-bowl. The burley lends a nose-tingling spiciness at the beginning of the smoke and some notes of wood and leather towards the end. The Virginias are barely noticeable, offering some grassiness toward the end of the smoke.

I've rated it Recommended but, for experienced English smokers, it's probably more of a Somewhat Recommended blend.

Due to its mildness, English Luxury is a good morning smoke and would make a good introduction to Latakia blends.

I do like this blend , burly have a sweet taste Virginia's a bit grassy , Latakia as always smoky , earthy the Cavendish rounds out the blend to make a enjoyable smoke.

I like VA's on the warm months , English from fall to early spring , so I tried EL per chance to find a nice medium fair for the coming season.

This is one I will order again for said purpose, seasonal smoke.l

It took me a while to get the quality of this blend. Usually, you smoke an English blend for the body, the heaviness. Here, at first, you encounter this light blend, with a very small concentration of Latakia - maybe too small. Too much Cavendish, I also read here, and those who said it were right. Maybe. It was an extremely hot day where I live, and I decided I want something light, and yet flavorful. I packed half a bowl, lit it up and gave it a go. Apparently, it’s a perfect blend for a hot day in the dessert. It’s light and fun, smokes rather cold, not high on nicotine. I believe it’ll also be a nice blend for beginners who want to try an English. It gives a hint of what Latakia tastes like and makes you want more.

I was gifted with a fairly large amount of this, so keep in mind with review is of some English Luxury that has over 10 years of aging. This is a very mild 'English', and the Latakia is noticeable in every puff but it is never dominate. While the components often mesh together, sometimes the VA or the Orientals seem to be forward, while the Burley seems to be supporting the Latakia. Altogether, very pleasant. Fans of other mild English blends (Squadron Leader, Presbyterian, Germain's 1820) may wish to try this: it's not a 'match' for any of them, but falls into a similar category.

This is my go to smoke. I like it because my smoke shop has it in stock all the time. I usually buy tins on line. But this is a mild and easy to smoke tobacco. I buy 4ozs at a time and store in a pint mason jar. 4ozs is only $9.

A good Latakia blend for the first timer. Very mild and easy to smoke. I may get it again if I tire of Frog Morton.

PS- Lux.English… First off, I personally view anything that attempts to over enhance the flavor/taste of my beloved Virginias or burleys blends unnecessary, and I smoke such blends, more or less as novelty or when I want change. When the flavor enhancer is a sweetener the blend is called an aromatic, where the enhancer is latakia it's called an English blend, same effect as I see it. For me, I personally prefer both enhancers kept to minimum, where they enhance the base tobaccos not bury them. Also IMO the latakia in this blend goes beyond the enhancement level, and is pretty much the major player in LE's taste and aroma. With that said, I do keep some LE on hand for those times when something different is called for, but if you prefer as I do, a dominant burly/Virginia taste and aroma, keep in mind that this tobacco (at least IMO) has a latakia dominant taste. Only somewhat recommended for those that prefer there tobacco blends more (USA) traditional.
