This one is a nice smooth, slightly smoky, slightly creamy, slightly thick smoke. I just realized I used "slightly" three times, that's what it is, a little bit of everything good in an English/scottish tobacco. Can't beat it for the price. I smoked this up quick, you probably will too.

English Luxury is a smooth and elegant English blend. The mixture of different tobacco invites you to smoke a medium-complex but relaxing blend. The latakia and oriental tobacco complement the Virginias with extra aroma and robustness. I notice some grass and sweetness in the smoke, together with latakia, creating a blend well balanced. It is possible to smoke every hour.

This blend was a gift from a friend. The pouch note was excellent, complex, fruity, and earthy, with a hint of molasses vying with the normal tobacco aromas.

On first light, the harmony of this blend was immediately evident with no one ingredient overpowering any other. The Virginia and Burley laid down a solid bass, with earth and wood mingling with grass and hay, with a slight fruity tang; the Latakia and Black Cavendish worked together with them for a nice smoky, brown-sugary finish that paired very nicely with coffee. The blend burned nice and cool, with no bite, requiring fewer than average relights, to a rather coarse, medium-gray ash.

Very good, tasty, and approachable, yet complex and flavorful. Will be smoking this again. Highly recommended.

In all, this is a sm

These reviews are more for my own reference. I didn't find this blend varied too much in comparison with Nightcap and it didn't have such a sweet after taste like Squadron Leader. Just an average English blend.

This a lighter "English" stye blend. The Orientals are mostly prominent and the Latakia more in the background. There's a sweetness that probably comes from the Cavendish. That sweetness dissipates as the bowl goes down and the Latakia becomes more noticeable. Every thing keeps very tame and gentle.

This could easily be one of those blends you'd puff on all day long mindlessly but it will also suit a more reflective evening with more focus on the actual tobacco.

If I were more of a Latakia smoker, my cellar would probably see a big bag of it soon. Since I'm not, I like to keep my "English" moments more exceptional in quality. I'll stick to the few pounds of more special tins I own.

Back when I was still smoking bulk aromatics from the local tobacco shop, I chose this tobacco as my introduction to the English blend. Well, I liked it and haven't looked back since, soon moving on to quality English blends and increasingly, my beloved Virginias. Although I don't keep it around anymore, I still consider English Luxury to be a good smoke for the price. Unlike some of Stokkebye's other English offerings, the Latakia is balanced nicely against the Virginias and Burleys. The presence of cavendish also helps make this a very approachable blend for those looking to escape the rather one-dimensional world of aromatics. In that regard I would consider this a peer of Frog Morton - nothing compared to the Dunhills and Gawiths but an enjoyable smoke nonetheless.

Hmm. First thing that comes through here, are the burley and virginia's. I see quite a small portion of black leaf here, and considering it's also comprised of black cavendish, the latakia content is extremely light. It shows through in the smoke. I feel if the virginias were different, this would be enough to increase my rating by another level. The georgian variety of virginia must not do it for me in this blend. Not sweet. Not fruity.. not that delicious raisins and spice i associate with good virginia. Just cig tobacco. I agree with whoever mentioned this might be appropriate as a crossover english, especially a crossover blend for a cigarette gone piper. It's not bad, but far too bland for me.
