TRIBUTE TO (Just Plain Nut) one of McClellands finest tobacco blends for a few reasons, I grieve in a way to write this review and makes me very sad to know that one of the greatest pipe tobacco companies is no more, it hurts even more to know why they are no more but that is another topic not a review, all I gotta say to that is "Stand For Your Tobacco Smoking Rights" and absolutely support your American tobacco farmers especially the few left that grow the BEST Virginia's in the WHOLE world!!! Tobacco built this country it is a foundation to our heritage and history, it is a culture being destroyed by socialist progressive quacks that aim to urinate on our constitution, for that I dedicate this review to McClelland and my fellow pipe smokers. Mcclelland Just Plain Nut is a simple review but nothing simple about this wonderful pipe tobacco indeed, the aging and fermentation process was one of a kind by Mcclelland, as with many of there blends the had a super special steaming and pressure technique that they guarded well and no other company did it quite like McClelland. Just Plain Nut is a burley base pipe tobacco blend with a fair amount of Virginia added to round it out. The brown burley is aged beautifully and the Virginia gracefully added with absolutely no topping whatsoever what you taste when you smoke this unique blend is 100% pure tobacco, its amazing what burley can produce in taste and when the right amount of Virginia is added you get Just Plain Nut. This is my all time favorite pipe tobacco and what I have left will be cherished and smoked very slowly, this blend is smooth and nutty and when smoked slow it will not bite but give you a earthy wonderful mild sweet flavor of the best burley releasing its natural flavors and the Virginia is amazing how it plays the role of creating a well rounded taste that you can taste when smoking this fine blend. Just Plain Nut taste best when smoked slow and I mean slow its not meant to be smoked in a hurry but rather to be contemplated in deep thought to process the one of a kind taste it gives off and the velvet texture the smoke leaves in your mouth and WHY IS IT SO NUTTY? and THERE IS NO TOPPING? because high quality burley at its finest produces this ultra nutty taste that comes off like its been flavored (topped) but it is not flavored or topped at all, that's what makes this so unique and now so very rare, I honestly can't say there are to many burley blends out there that can deliver a nutty taste like this blend, I mean this is it it!!! The last of its kind as far as a burley this unique and one of a kind, yes of course there are many awesome burley pipe tobaccos out there but Just Plain Nut earned its title. If you can find it still and good luck with that one buy it all lol!!! This blend ages like a champ and will only get better over the years when stored correctly because of the fact it is pure tobacco with NO ADDITIVES. This was one of the purist tobaccos I loved so very much and I know those who smoke this understand what I am saying, I highly recommend this and if you have access buy it up last call last chance, you will never smoke anything like this ever again because Mcclelland was one of a kind and were the true masters of Virginia's and the magic makers of burley. Five star pipe tobacco blend one of the finest burley, Mcclelland you will be missed dearly, thanks for reading my review, God bless all you fellow pipe smokers and God bless America and God bless our tobacco farmers and business's keep the faith my friends.

This is another big time winner from McClellend. The open was beautiful Virginias and some burly mixed in but Not a large amount. Lights super easy and required no relights. I tried to smoke this like it was an aromatic and it really paid off for me. The wonderful taste of nuts is there in spades as well as some sweet hay, sweet butter and hints of earth tones. Just a really nice taste and flavor throughout the entire bowl. Smoke this blend slow keep the bowl fairly cool and you get one damn good smoke. Room note is pretty mild with no specific aroma. One thing you will notice is the volume of smoke is very light. If your getting clouds of thick smoke your over doing it and will ruin the experience. I sincerely enjoyed this blend and can't wait to try it again. I also plan to add a small amount of Latakia to get just a hint of smoky flavor as well. To me this is a true four star smoke. I find it interesting that some folks are calling this an aromatic when in fact it is not an aromatic at all. There are no added flavorings other than what you get through the tobacco. It is amazing the amount of flavor you get.

Exactly what it says it is. I detect hazelnut flavoring.

I bought this before as a house blend at a now defunct pipe shop years ago and have been searching for it ever since.

I love the flavor and the room note is nice. As another reviewer stated-don’t push this one. Sip and be rewarded.

I smoke aromatics, English and lots of plain burley. Of all of them, this is the only one my wife approves of.

The aroma and flavor of this blend is fantastic. Im usually not big on aeromatics but I must say I thoroughly enjoy this one. Just be careful it will bite if provoked.

This is a wonderful blend. The pre-light armoa smells like a peanut butter cup. A lot of aromatics I've smoked smelled great however didn't quite taste as good as they smelled but not this one. The flavour doesn't come out very strong at first but it's thick room odor aids the development of the flavour. This has become one of my favorites as a dessert pipe after a fine meal.

It works REALLY well if you enjoy it with a rich coffee. The flavours just mix.

This is another one of my favorite aromatic tobaccos to smoke.

The cut is a ribbon cut Burley with Virginia cased in a nutty flavor, pack firmly but with a slight spring. The blend has the touch of a silky soft tobacco and smokes quite easily and very mild. This is definately an all day tobacco with no tongue bite and a gentle taste. I smoke this is a Bjarne Giant Brandy Glass that will hold about 1.5 ounces of tobacco, this I need both hands to hold as the pipe itself weighs 158g.

I find Nut to be very similar to McClelland?s Mellow Mack if not one in the same.
