A delightful combination of Virginias and soft, cut cake burley cavendish. Nutty flavor.

I like this one. Has some really nice flavors. The Burley is nutty with a touch of earth. The Virginia is sweet with a touch of citrus. The topping, I think, has three components. Cocoa, Pecan and Hazelnut. As long as you don't push it too hard it burns cool and maintains it's flavor. Push it and you create a furnace with no flavor. Properly smoked this is a tasty, pleasant, relaxing smoke.
Mild in body. Mild to medium in flavor. Needs a little drying time.

McClelland - No. 110 Just Plain Nut.
The pouch contains a very well broken flake: ribbons. I can detect a slightly nutty aroma from the pouch, and the water content couldn't be any better.
No. 110 takes to the flame easily and burns well; providing it's been loaded a little looser than usual. I enjoy the flavour quite a lot: I don't get any citrus virginia notes, I only identify nuts: nuts, from both the Burley, and an addition. This appurtenance makes the smoke incredibly rustic tasting. It seems nuttier whilst steadying the burn, after that it calms a touch. I find the actual build of the smoke quite thin: it's not like puffing fresh air, but it's a bit thinner than a lot.
The nicotine's pretty mild, and due to the thickness of the smoke the room-note's very pleasant.
Three stars are very applicable. It falls a little short of four, but is loads better than two.
Recommended.

This blend is very light. If you're looking for any nicotine, keep looking. But if you're looking for something light, pleasant, and with a great room note - look no further.
The tin note is very nice. No chemical-esque smells, nothing overtaking. It's a lightly nutty scent, possibly a bit of vanilla.
It burns well, and as long as it's packed correctly should burn all the way down with ease. The cut is a fine ribbon and packs easily.
Moisture in my batch was good, possibly a tad moist but still smoked very well. A great all-day smoke!

Burley to tobacco blending is like tofu to Chinese cooking. Both have a creamy bland quality without having anything to do with dairy, and both are used in a variety of recipes because they have the reputation of taking (or enhancing) the taste of the other ingredients in the mix. A taster familiar with them can usually detect their presence, but sometimes both tofu and burley can disguise themselves so clandestinely as to fool even the most discerning palate.
If for no other reasons but their relative simplicity, and their chameleon like adaptability to transform themselves, and what they touch, both tofu and burley are noble, if somewhat bland, human accomplishments. Most people either love them or hate them. I love burley?or rather I love the idea of burley just as I love the idea of tofu--even if man can not live on burley (or tofu) alone.
If you have ever wondered why anyone would take good tobacco and top it with the essence of fruit, vanilla, or chocolate, the blandness of burley is the reason why. Like tofu it screams to take on, even steal, the identity of something else. Which brings us to McClelland?s Bulk 110 blend. Sure it?s topped, even cased?but who cares?
This blend may not be too complex but if you want to remember the fireplace where as a child you hung your Christmas stockings, or grandpa?s pipe, or the comforts of the doctor who prescribed you your first cough syrup (preferably with Codeine), or even the inflexible ways of the math teacher who kicked you out of class for not paying attention, then you owe it to yourself to try McClelland 110. You should try this tobacco even if you are not feeling nostalgic because it will explain why topping a blend can be a very legitimate undertaking. Order a double serving of Egg Foo Young, then pack your pipe, kickback, and enjoy this blend.

i found this to be a very pleasant smoke with a good aroma and a fair tobacco flavor. It is a good clean burn all the way through the bowl and ended without wet dottle to clean out of the pipe.

This tobacco has a great tin note. I think it maybe the best around. The room note is also wonderful, but the taste does not deliver on its initial impression, or not at first. At the top of the bowl it is a fairly mild aromatic, and it gets richer as the bowl progresses. It is kind of like a rich pie, the further you get toward the end the more concentrated the taste. I do not smoke this tobacco alone, but do find it nice to mix with burly blends. It just seems to give them some body. It has all the aromatic "issues" that you expect, but is absolutely worth putting up with.
