Mac Baren Vanilla Cream Loose Cut
(2.89)
This colorful blend consists of loose cut Virginia tobaccos, light brown Burleys, a sweet and soft Modern Cavendish. It is finally mixed with small plugs of flake tobacco. After processing, the tobaccos are gently mixed together and an exceptional vanilla flavor is added. This selection creates an outstanding blend with superior flavor, unique aroma and a distinctive taste experience.
Notes: Introduced in 1999. Due to EU regulations this is now re-named in those countries as "Classic Loose Cut".

This was recommended to as an easy beginners tobacco. This tobacco was so bland and harsh that it turned me off pipe smoking for a year.
I was extremely disappointed after the great aroma that wafted out when i opened the pouch. I had alot of difficulty getting this tobacco to light properly and it would usually only burn one side of the bowl. I bought this at a corner store so im wondering if was just ancient and entirely stale. Luckily I finally moved on to a higher quality tobacco and am happily smoking now.

Vanilla Cream … First off, I do smoke some aromatic blends, those that taste something like tobacco, but IMHO this blend has way too many non tobacco flavorings added to it, to be considered anything but a novelty smoke. Your opinion may vary.

Too much foo foo vanilla flavor. I feel like I should be wearing a dress while smoking this stuff. It's like someone lit 20 cheap vanilla candles they got from the dollar store in a small room.
Not the "vanilla cream" I was expecting.

I love aromatics, but I'm just not digging this one. I hardly get ANY vanilla at all, the taste overall is unremarkable and in a way rather harsh, and the room note is nothing special. Gotta figure out what to do with the rest of the 100 gr tin.

Not bad... but it's kind of blah, blah, blah. It mild enough... but like an earlier reviewer said "it burns my throat," and for what? It reminds me of when I used to smoke cigarettes. Pipe tobacco should be tasty. This one's just blah.

Well, not sure what MacBaren is putting in their tobaccos, but this one is yet another example of a tobacco that irritates my throat, and is essentially flavorless.
Also, my wife had already gone off to bed, so I wasn't able to get her thoughts on the room note. However, the "aroma" that I smelled was anything but pleasant. Certainly nothing that smelled like vanilla, just as there was no vanilla to be detected in the flavor.
At the rate I'm going with these tinned aromatics, I'm thinking of just sticking with English blends.

This is my second and last trial of Mac Baren products. Burns hot, (no I am not puffing to hard), bites and has a harshness I will not tolerate. Flavor is typical for the genre, not exceptional, just middle of the road. What remains is currently killing beetles on another rose bush.
Also, the tins are cheap and rust out quickly.

I had been looking forward to my first bowl of what, on the face of it, looks and smells everything a quality aromatic should.
It is a nice looking black and ginger tobacco perhaps a little on the dry side to the touch.
My first bowl was a real disappointment. There was no taste of Vanilla. Indeed I could detect no taste at all. It did not burn particualrly well either, until about halfway through when it became a good slow-burner alas without taste.
I thought my taste buds had deserted me at this point, and now after several bowls of this supposed aromatic it's actually started to bite me leaving me with a mouth drier than my son's toothbrush.
Mrs RH has made no complaint about fragrance but hasn't declared it foul either.
In conclusion, a good looking though totally tastless smoke, promising a great deal yet failing to deliver.

Another sweet MacBaren product but not for me. The aromatic fans must give it a try.
It reminded me the very first years of my pipe smoking experience. Those days were sweet as vanilia but not now.. I prefer tobaccos.

Enjoying MacBaren's 'mixture' very much I decided try their Vanilla. Boy, was I disappointed. WAY too hot-burning and tongue-biting. Did not notice any vanilla sweetness either. It was only the smell that I enjoyed. For the record, tobacco had been bought in Germany.
