It is a fairly neutral mixture at all, doesn't stand out at all though so little is bad in anything. It is a simple mixture so it does not recommend to buy it.

Whatever you say here... for me was a very a pleasant experience 20 yrs ago and probably because of that still is but I admit today is not the same like back then or my taste changed somehow. Anyway the smell is enjoyable and taste too. A little advice (in my opinion) IT IS NOT FOR PUFFING. lol... Start slow and sty on it!

Better than Mac Baren's 7seas Gold! If you like drugstore tobaccos, and Gold blends, you should give it a try! The only minus, which I experienced with Mac Baren as well, is that the tobacco burns a lot! Maybe gold blends tend to do that, I don't know. Still new to the world of pipes!

This is a mainstay blend. Cavendish and a simple, smooth, vanilla flavor. A solid flavorful smoke for the price, $3.50/2oz. here in the south. If I can't have my "fancy pants" internet blends from around the globe, Captain Black will do everytime. Light to medium taste and nicotine. No frills and dependable. Its no longer in my daily rotation as my tatses have changed, but an old favorite nontheless.
This tobacco has made many a newbie, including me say, "this pipe smoking thing might be my gig."
Yep, its a recruiter, and the pipesmoking world is in its debt.

This is a decent drugstore blend to have with your morning coffee. It has a light vanilla flavor and can be smoked easily without going out due to the thin cut.
It needs to dry out about 24 hours before puffing though (it’s way too wet out of the pouch).
It won’t wow you but it doesn’t have any offense aspects either. And when was the last time a straight Cavendish amazed anyone no matter who made it?
Also good for use as a blending component for leaf that is too strong in my experience.

This is my favorite of the CB blends. To me it has the least chemical taste and the most tobacco taste while still having the pleasant room note of an aromatic. One of the few gas station tobaccos I will be happy to smoke in a pinch. If CB and Borkum Riff are all that's available to you, try this one for sure.

Captain Black Gold reminds me an uncle of mine in the village i spent part of my childhood - he was smoking his pipe and I was sitting next to him keeping in my hand a plastic spoon with deep bowl filled with tobacco and pretending I was also smoking with him (I was less than 10 years old and spent time with uncle many summers). He was not talking, just looking at me with a smile, like he had a friend to smoke together their pipes. CBG is the first tobacco I smoked when started pipe smoking - and did smoke many-many pouches in many different pipes. Even though currently I am in English/Va/Vapers, occasionally i will fire a bowl with CBG to bring back these sweet and relaxing, innocent memories. The tobacco has a very fine ribbon cut and light goldish-to-brownish color. It welcomes you with a mild sweet aroma. It’s creamy and mildly sweet and very consistent through the bowl, for each bowl you smoke. The toppings are there, but not completely overwhelming and you can get the flavor of the tobacco at the same time. A nice parenthesis from my routine with (majorly) some English blends, virginia-based flakes and different new tobaccos I experience here and there. A solid 3-star blend for me, on the side of light tobaccos, light aromatics.
I will normally leave the tobacco to sit in the air for 10 minutes max for little drying. Then, I will fill in medium density a bowl, no need to compact it too dense, no need to make it very loose. In this way, and given that I will sit back and smoke slowly, it will burn at moderate pace - it generally needs a few relights, but due to its cut and good moisture level, it keeps well lit compared to other aromatics/blends. And it burns very, very cool I can say, as long as you don’t puff like train - the bowl can keep completely at room temperature, but needs to slow down and enjoy it slowly. Chance of bite? I never experience any single bite with CBG and we talk about non-filter pipes. What it does is that it leaves in my mouth and lips some little pleasant spiciness, which always makes me feel like the tobacco has some small dose of perique, though i have not found in any comments of folks to describe perique presence (but it does give me such an impression).
Yes, a corn cob, e.g. country gentleman, is one of the best options. I did smoke CBG in the past with a non-filter Rattray’s harpoon (Canadian type) which I use now for English blends and it really outperformed I can say.

This is by far the best standard tobacco. If you smoked a lot and you don't know what to buy, and even if you smoked this before, buy it. Cheap tobacco and standard quality. Gets me every time. It is not the greatedt of all but nice quick choice.

This is good. I don't like it as much as royal or original. If i had to put them in order of Royal is first and original and gold are tied for second. Its not the same as the other two. I don't buy it often. I like mixing this one with Canadian winter made by Brigham when I start getting near the bottom of the pouch with both of them. Gold smells nice, not much taste which is fine with me I have other tobaccos that taste better but don't smell better that's for sure. This one you can smoke while walking around, fishing, cleaning up the shed or garage or setting the tent when you go camping. Light it and forget about it and enjoy it and get some work done.

I have tried the Original, Dark, and Royal blends and find this to be the best for me. Its not overly cased and sweet. Just a mild Cavendish with a slight casing. Which is more to my liking because I can still taste the tobaccos. Very low nicotine. Mild strength.easily all day smoke.
