Vauen Auenland - The Shire
(2.62)
Virginia tobacco of different shades and cutting widths, delicately rounded off with ripe, dark Cavendish and a hint of Burley. Fruit aromas of juicy oranges and sweet peaches give this mixture its delicious taste. An extremely gentle, excellent mixture with perfect burn.

Just bought this today after reading the review. It taste like the description. You could just walk away from it. There's nothing writen on the tin, no description ...nothing. but boy i found my blend. I was hooked to the St Patrick 2015 blend from Peterson. This i think is better. Sweet mild to medium. Room note fantastic. Behavior of lit tobacco-expand and create fluffy ash but u get clean finish in the bowl nothing get stuck inside the bowl like some aromatic with heavy flavour. This one flavour is nice but not sticky. Overall 5 thumbs up for me.

This review is for The Hobbit series with an Auenland pipe Gilg (rustic). Aromatic tobacco, smoked in a churchwarden-style pipe. Both are Vauen, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit series "Auenland" pipe and tobacco. If you want to hang with Gandalf,... "YOU; SHALL NOT;;;PASS!!!!!!" Cool huh?

At the moment. I tend to smoke aromatics and I have to say this is one of my favorites. It is a very high quality and a well thought out and balanced blend. I get mostly peaches and cream and some candied orange peel. I've tried this mixture with and without filter and I have to say I enjoyed it more thoroughly without a filter. It needs a bit of drying before packing after which it burns well and cool, with no tongue bite. There are notes of caramel and dried dates and a nuance of nuts (pecan perhaps). It is highly enjoyable, and not cloying like many aromatics.

Smell: Very good. I would define it as sweet and sour. I can definitely smell some orange. No peach detected by my nose. Quite natural smell.
Taste: A tasty aromatic tobacco. The Virginia, Cavendish and Burley are of good quality and well topped with some citrusy aroma, which remains quite consistent throughout the bowl. Unfortunately I do not taste any other flavor like peach or apricot. But a delicate and naturale orange/citrus flavor is present and really enjoyable.
Ratio Smell/Taste: I was not disappointed. The good smell from the tin translates in the smoke in a nice and interesting way.
Moisture: It requires some drying time.
Filter: With.
Ghosting: Mild.

Very pleasant and full of flavor. My family likes this one as the room note is very mild with a hint of sweets. This is one of my go to tobaccos for early morning pipes.

I just added this to my collection based on it’s description. I am an aromatic smoker, and the sweeter the better. I love this tobacco. It was a little wet right out of the tin, but not bad. It smells wonderful in the tin, I want to dig in with a spoon. It smoked a little wet for me, but I did pack it straight from a fresh tin. It has an awesome fruity room note, and I actually get a hint of peach in the flavor too. It is the best peach flavored tobacco I have tried so far (Gawith Hoggarth “American Peach”, Peter Stokkeby “Peaches and Cream”). I don’t detect the orange flavor. The tobacco in the bowl is burning nice and dry so far. I am smoking a “larger” Balkovec straight billiard, maybe a group 5-6? The nic hit is very mild. I am definitely going to get a few more tins if I can. Call it a “non-smoker” tobacco if you want, I don’t care, it suits me perfectly. It is definitely flavored, and “real tobacco” flavors are in the background. Just so you know, I like Sam Gawith’s “Black XX” and “Cabbie’s Mixture”, McClelland’s “Beacon” and other “real tobaccos”, no Latakia for me though. Many aromatics remind me of chemically scented candles, this does not. Burned to the bottom, no goop....nice. If it ghosts my pipe, I don’t care, maybe the next tobacco I smoke in this pipe will be made better with a hint of this tobacco’s ghost?
