Tis I, the nemisis of the quintessential English blends. Well, not this time, at least not as strongly as with 965.
Early Morning Pipe is indeed a mild blend so far as its "kick", that is the nicotine content. It will not shock the nervous system into overdrive as some blends will. That being said, this is not a blend that will induce nausea at 6 a.m.
The tobacco, cut, and packaging are all vintage Dunhill (read:Benchmark). The tobacco packs and lights very well, and stays lit. As another review noted, it is a low maintainence tobacco.
This is one English mixture that I can tolerate to some degree despite my aversion to Turkish tobaccos. The Virginias dominate early on and the Oriental factor is lighter and later than in 965. It is in fact a good smoke for any time of the day when you want something that is clean, fresh, but not overly contemplative.
I would try to like it much more, but in the end, that little Oriental chap has me put out.

While not as knock-you-on-your-butt-strong as 965, this tobacco still packs some punch. If you like My Mixture 965, you'll likely enjoy this as a somewhat lighter alternative. If you prefer Frog Morton, however, this may be a surprise! I loaded up my first bowl of this in a rather large Stanwell Golden Danish poker, thinking that, from the other reviews I have read, this shouldn't be too strong. And perhaps it isn't, if you don't find My Mix 965 at all strong. Two thirds of the way through this one, however, I stood up and noticed that I had become rather dizzy without realizing it. I rested for half an hour before finishing the bowl, and am glad that I did so. The tobacco is somewhat long-cut, with multiple shades of brown and a rather strong Latakia smell in the tin. It packed and lit easily, burning fairly well with about the average number of relights. The first third of the bowl was nice, with Latakia clearly present in the flavor and odor. The nutty, woodsy taste did not dominate, however, and the other tobaccos blended nicely with it to make a rather mild (in flavor) smoke. Getting into the second third, I find that the flavor is more complex and a bit darker, but still very mild with no bite at all. At this point, I stand up and decide I need to rest for a time. Starting in on the last third the complexity seems to diminish, though that could be due to the half-hour wait before proceeding. There is a very little moisture in the bottom of the pipe, and I am able to finish the bowl with little dottle. Overall, a nice smoke that I would not classify as an "early morning" experience, as least in my case. If not for the strength, I might recommend this as an all-day smoke somewhat lighter than My Mixture 965. I personally, however, prefer Frog Morton or Mephisto to this well-blended but rather average tobacco.

I have a tin of the Dunhill dating back to early 2019. My previous memory was of the heady whiff of Latakia drifting by. Now the bowlful barely returns any. The tobacco mind you has retained its quality and is not dissimilar to the Dunhill Internationals my Grandad used to smoke. So not too mild-mannered, not insipid, just high-end fags left running the show.

Very simple English blend with not much flavour. Personally nothing special. Medium strength and tolerable room notes. I don't have a refined enough palate to pick out individual flavours.

This is one of the better English blends that I have come across. Somewhat sweet but earthy tasting notes are prevalent throughout. It's pretty good but i'm not sure if I'll buy more yet.

Yeah, I don't get this one. Mild, yes. But the virginias really lack sweetness and the orientals don't shine through. I'm a little baffled -- if I hadn't read that this was a virginia/oriental, I would have guessed it was a light burley mix. It's got that same bitterness that I associate with mediocre burleys. I guess that must be coming from the virginias (?), but its not a traditional virginia flavor.
Every once in a while I get a little note of virginia breadiness, or a little twang from the orientals, but its rare. This one doesn't add value for me, especially given its price and challenge to find sometimes.
If you like burleys and want something in a similar vibe, but light, give this a try. If you're really looking for virginia flavor or orientals, there are better light options, IMO.
If you're looking for a light, easy to smoke english, I'd take Drucquer & Son's "Trafalgar" over this. It's got just a little more body than EMP, but the same lightness. Or, for a more oriental approach, Rajah's Court is light, smokeable, and has a little more complexity than EMP. Either of those remain my go-to options for something nonthreatening and pleasant in a "first pipe of the day."

This isn't an especially memorable blend, but it has a pleasant taste and good amount of nicotine. Smoky, woody, and "tame". I find it rather comparable with Dunhill "Reds" cigarettes. My smoker friends didn't get much out of the room note.
It's not bad, just a bit dull. That's what some people want and I'd imagine it could mellow out harsher blends well. Being Dunhill, it has a fabulous tin and lights easily, burns well, finishes clean.

Tin Note: not what I expected, muted, though there was a slight tanginess from the Orientals, the Lat was subdued, but balanced and the VA was simply along for the ride...
Appearance: light and fluffy with a nice ribbon cut, some pieces appeared more chopped, it packed and lit well
Moisture: a tad moist, but nothing a few minutes of drying could not handle easily
Taste: mellow strength with no added flavorings detected, nothing distinctive jumped out, surprisingly it did have a tendency to impart a slightly harsh and somewhat bitter aftertaste
Room Note: tolerable, but at times it left a cigarette scent
Overall: My 2¢... a light but balanced, low nic English blend with no component any more prominent than the other. I don't feel there is anything wrong about this blend, it just didn't have any qualities that would make me want to buy it again. I used about ¾ of this 50 gram tin before offering this review.

Note: This is a one-shot review.
3 year old sample in Willard Zulu. Light. Faint floral orientals Does not want to stay lit, even though it is dry. Much better after a tamp, ash dump, and relight. Subtle spice. Buttery. Halfway through bowl a different flavor popped up and then vanished. Caught me off guard. Not sure what it was. Can't describe it either. Tamp Ash dump Smoke and flavor return. Bottom ¼ of the bowl creamy smoke Smooth Flavors are subtle and combined. Retrohale is still a little sharp Bowl a little hot, puffing just enough to keep the tobacco lit. Probably needed a firmer pack. Nice nicotine though. Overall, unimpressive smoke with hints of niceness.

This is a pleasant tasting, smooth-smoking blend with absolutely no bite. A decent all-day smoker for people who do not particularly enjoy English blends, but want a break from aromatics. I get the whole 'morning' idea, but I don't smoke when I wake up. I pack my first pipe after lunch-late morning at the earliest. This isn't bad, but for the same price as Nightcap, I don't know that I will buy another can. If you are an early smoker and want something that wont cover up the taste of your toast and coffee, maybe it is for you.
