What a treat. Nice to find a lighter style English without overtly portioned Latakia. Rounds out my English blend for a lighter style when the mood strikes. Pleasant tin aroma and room notes. Wanted something similar to McConnells Scottish blend, and this hits the mark perfectly. Burley adds a nice “in the background” character, in sync with the Virginia sweetness. Davidoff website indicates “ refined with a dash of the finest Scotch whisky.” I didn’t notice this, but maybe because I was sipping a double rye whisky while enjoying the pipe. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

As a start, the name of this blend got my attention. Despite it's whiskey topping, I think this is far from my expectations, but in a pleasant way. To my opinion, this could be an all day mild to medium tobacco, as the virginia and burley proportions are very well balanced in almost equal parts. Tends to smoke better half way down, showing nothing but white ash. Yeast and citro notes may hit you, with citron being slightly more present at the beginning. Recommended.

Medium-mild in strength and very tongue-friendly. Rather complex in taste. The most obvious being Burley, Kentucky (which is fire cured Burley) and Virginia. In each draught another one takes the lead. Some Oriental leaf is there, very much in the background, just enough to donate a little spice to the blend. A delicate floral note can be picked-up now and then, which can originate from natural tobacco or topping.

I am normally scared off by artificial flavourings. Here I find it unobtrusive. According to the producer, this blend has been cased with Scotch Whisky. But – I cannot find a single trace of it. The introduction (title) of this internet page states “Cut: Ready Rubbed”, which is definitely wrong. It is a Medium (or medium-fine) Ribbon Cut. Anyway, it is a smooth, tasty and mellow all-day smoke, not leading into depth.

This tin was dusty when purchased, aged 18 months, had proper seal, still a tad dry when opened.

Tin note somewhat Flake Medallion -like: fruitcakeish. Atypical perhaps if Dav, some sizeable stems, woody bits.

Flavoring all but gone post-char, decent base tobaccos, which took several bowls for me to discern. Here I'd hazard a guess that by removing the Turk component, it would make a smokeable VaBur. Burns very hot even at idle, tongue bite not a problem though.

As it is this blend is not flat...exactly, but its monotonous enough to be a one-tin wonder. I'll finish the tin, but won't be revisiting.

This is the first Davidoff I tried. I was immediately reminded of cigarette smoke. Perhaps because of the burley and Turkish. I even tried to inhale it to compare the experience. During the second half of the bowl, I was able to taste the added flavour. The hints of whisky, and the sweet caramel I suppose. Interestingly enough, the added aroma is just kept at the limit, or this would be an aromatic. Clearly a blend that appeals more to taste buds.

All in all, this is a quality tobacco. And I will remember that.

I had high expectations of this Davidoff offering, after I had a few tins of Flake Medaillons, but it disappointed. The flavor might be anything, but Whiskey, but there is a bitter taste undertone, which reminds me of Borkum Riff. Other than that, it burnt fine, tasted like warm air and I was glad, when the tin was gone. Will definitely not buy again.

This is a light and very faint aromatic. The taste of the scotch disappears as I smoke the bowl, leaving the barest hints of any scots whiskey. My wife thinks the room is sweet and light. I agree. I cant detect much of an aroma even after all day in my truck. While I like this tobacco, I am probably not going to buy this again. There are others with more strength and taste that I prefer. But again, this would be a great light all day smoke.

A mixture that is not bad except when compared to other similar mixtures. It is smoked with pleasure and ... with some care, since although it cannot be said that it is a tobacco that bites, it heats the pipe and is not absolutely harmless to the tongue. The aromatic component is more noticeable in the tin than during smoking, without this meaning that it goes unnoticed. The flavor is quite good and what predominates in it is virginia with the soft touch of liquor. If there were no other mixtures I could smoke more of this, but since there are many better mixes I don't think I will repeat this one.

I got this as a gift and after a while sitting in a jar, smoking it rarely I kinda learned what this blend is all about. And I really like it now and I think it deserves a higher rating.

It's simply a beguiling mix of tastiness. It doesn't like to bite it just wants to please. Some people may criticize a lack of character. Now for me the Virginia taste is greatly refined by the various condiments, resulting in a great blend.

Good quality. Solid taste. Honest but not bold.

Comes dry, burns well, becomes spicy towards the end. Doesn't really leave dottle, and only little moisture. Aftertaste and room note rather subtle and nice.

Tin note is light and floral, which is typical of an oriental forward blend. The scotch is also noticeable, but not overwhelming. Medium sized ribbons pack and light easily. The orientals and scotch are balanced pretty well. I'm typically not a fan of whiskey flavored blends, but you can tell that the quality of the ingredients put this blend into a higher category than most whisky flavored blends. Burns well, and as with most blends, is much better when you smoke it slower. First few bowls didn't impress me all that much, but as I made my way through the tin, it began to grow on me. I still don't think that whiskey flavored blends are my thing, but if they were, this would probably be one of my go to blends.
