Davidoff Red Mixture

I loved it and enjoyed it it seems more of black cavendish and golden Virginia with some acceptable casings. tobacco smells very nice and light very soft to smoke no tongue bite what so ever burns vey well for sure i will buy more stock for an every day smoke

This was gifted to me, I would never buy an aromatic tobacco such as this. I was interested to try it though in order to understand what it is people like in these aromatic mixtures.

I've read many a review talking about the grassy flavours of the Virginia and the sweetness of the Cavendish... but honestly I can't taste anything except caramel flavoring and it leaves a strange furry feeling on my tongue. I cannot taste tobacco.

This is my Aromatic of choice. It's a pleasent smoke, creamy and fruity. As all the Davidoffs, this comes in a very nice presentantion. Tin aroma is superb. Easy to pack and to lit. I don't smoke it everytday because I find it too be a bit too sweet. Overall is a nice tobacco to burn when my girl is around.

Maybe I got a bad tin, but I found Red Mixture very flat indeed. There was a hint of something saccharine-like at times, but mostly just felt like smoking hot air. Disappointed.

Looks and smells great in the tin. Packs, lights, and smokes exceptionally well. The taste is quite sweet, but delicious. Room note is also exceptional - I get compliments when I smoke it. I can smoke this tobacco at the office. One of my favourites.

Davidoff's blue mixture was an unassuming, yet strangely satisfying brew.

I was eager to try the red.

I can't detect a great deal of difference between this and the blue mixture if I'm honest. The same clean (yet not soapy) aroma awaits you in the tin.

The tobacco looks pretty similar and burns and behaves much the same.

I have to say that after an enforced absence from the pipes due to a cold, which neutralised my taste buds, this blend was the one I turned to first. Like an old friend.

It's not strong or harsh and tongue bite unlikely even by a demon puffer.

I think there's a green mixture as well. I think I know what I might find...when I try it, which I most certainly will.

Davidoff Red Mixture: I do see aromatic lovers to really enjoy this blend, especially those preferring a mild smoke. Generally I like the trilogy of Davidoff, blue, red and green, for occasional aromatic smokes. This one, is perhaps easier to be an all day blend, or at least easily repeatable during the day if you like aromatics. It is creamy, sweet, but not heavily sweet, I perceive the black cavendish more dominant than the Virginia, the toppings make the blend a mild aromatic, including vanilla (it seems to be the major as many folks describe as well), caramel and notes of cocoa. Smokes very well in corn cob medium size, needs a few relights only and it does burn cool without tong bite (smoked without filter). A solid 3-star blend within the aromatic class.

Another solid blend by Davidoff. A nice Virginia grassy note, followed by cocoa and a hint of vanilla. Stronger than the Blue, yet mild-medium in flavor. Consistent throughout the tin, and a very cool smoke, no bite. It is not overly cased, and the blend holds well. I have not aged this blend which I do with my VaPer and English blends. I find this smooth and a good smoke with a pleasant room note.

The tin aroma is like prunes, or raisings. A close look at the colors of the tobacco reveals a mix of about 50% dark Cavendish, about 25% brown Burley and probably about 25% yellow Virginias.

Easy to pack, burns cool and dry, with no tongue bite. The fruity taste in the pipe is similar to the tin's aroma. The smell lingers in my skin and clothing for a while. Even my wife likes the smell. It is indeed a pleasant smoke.
