A wonderful Burley and Cavendish blend, notes of cocoa, nutty, with a pleasant sweetness, a touch of citrus in the background. Stays consistant through out the bowl. Moisture leve was excellent from the bag. Smooth and easy smoke. Throughout the bowl the flavor seemed to be very constants. I have been looking for a solid and consistant Burley/Cavendish blend and this hits the mark.

Bystanders derived much pleasure when I smoked this blend in their presence. It truly does have a vanilla/confectionary aroma in the room. I, the smoker, was less pleased in my experience. There isn’t much tobacco flavor.

This aromatic is comprised of black, brown, red, and a few errant blonde strands. The cut is a combination of rough cut and fairly narrow ribbons. The pouch aroma is a mix of semi sweet chocolate and vanilla. When smoked, these conspire with the underlying tobaccos to give a flavor somewhere between caramel and butterscotch. The vanilla is only faintly detectable in the smoke, being more pronounced in the room note. The toppings are just ok. They can actually lend some unsettling chemically notes on the palate. It ships fairly wet but dries easily enough. Unfortunately, no matter how I prepared/packed/smoked this blend, it always smoked wet.

Another overrated blend, this time because it's cheap and quite easy to find.

It's pure black in the pouch, so predominantly black cavendish.

Another quite dry bag from the MacBaren logistic, this time in Spain. Different Countries, same problem...

I purchased it to enjoy a "balanced cake". I did not find what I was expecting. Taste was based on the typical "all purposes" MacBaren blend they use for everything within the 15€ pipe tobaccos (I believe), with an extra dose of black cavendish. Stop. Doesn't burn as good as the Scottish Mixture, and it's not balanced as the Classic loose cut.

I was curious because of the god rating and because of the room note I got from a man close to my table in a pub, outside, that looked really good.

Now I have enough experience to understand that, YES, the room note is important but the taste is MORE important, and they do not necessarily match.

So I did not finish it and for sure I placed a red X on the 7 seas brand, I won't get another one ever.

im reviewing this in comparison to other otc (same category blends) smoked in briar. bought it for 5.33 usd. it smells good sweet buttery creamy, this blend is soaked with pg i dried it for a couple of days before smoking it ,i like my tobacco dry . when packed light to medium and dried this tobacco shines it taste just like it smells with a little citrus from the virginias.

its recommended for ppl who like aromatics for a cheap, grab a go smoke just don't expect much.

when dried, it will not bite and doesn't need much relights and ppl around you will like the room note. 1 point doesn't bite. 1 point for price. 0 points for quality its an otc. 0 point for taste (subjective)

Extremely pleasant, quite sweet tobacco with a clearly noticeable vanilla. As for MacBaren, it does not bite too much. The taste does not change too much during smoking, although this does not make the tobacco boring. Definitely one of my favorite aromatics and my everyday smoke. It encouraged me to try other 7 seas series tobacco.

It's very easy to smoke and pack which makes it ideal for beginner smokers.

Room Note very pleasant (one of the few tobacco from which non-smoking friends do not escape)

EDIT: Its the same story as with 7 seas Royal Blend. After two bulks im tired, this is just too much sweet like a whole jar of nugat cream eat at once. Must say that i was also very bored smoking it at the end. I need a break, very long break. In fact im not sure if thata break will ever come to the end. And because of that im oblige to change my rating to four stars.

On opening the tin you get exactly what you have paid for , a chocolate and vanilla tobacco at a reasonable price point. It's a recognisable scent but with a some what artificial edge. Moisture is not a problem in the pack I have received and the tobacco loads easily into the bowl. Lighting is in no way an issue nore is keeping the bowl lit. The first taste delivers exactly what the tin nose promised, chocolate, vanilla and maybe a little caramel but the same as the the tin nose there is something slightly artificial about the taste. It's hard to explain, it's a bit like comparing hershey's chocolate to fine Belgian couverture chocolate. For me the flavour remains constant through out the bowl and while it can build up a little heat it never becomes a problem. I would talk about the tobacco flavours but I found them quite hard to find and what I did find was neither offensive or remarkable.

This tobacco has it's place and is not a disaster by any means but will also never threaten higher end aromatics like 4th generation. It is an easy going, puffable, all day long blend that will not offend nor set the world on fire.

I've seen people saying this has notes from vanilla and chocolate, I don't perceive them, for me this is actually Coconut flavoured. Nice. Better than Royal for sure, but I prefer the Gold Blend, but this gets some points by not being that overtly sweet.

I’ve been a piper off and on for years and recently picked it back up over the past year. In an attempt to broaden my palette experience, I researched and ordered 10, 1oz tester blends from PipesandCigars.com

Currently, I have been re-testing to see where my taste profile sits. Seven Seas Regular blend has jumped to the top bracket of my all time favorites. Many of the reviews here already describe the qualities of this amazing blend! I would describe the character of this blend as the name suggests, “Seven Seas” indicates a blend achieved from experiences of travels to far off ports of call.

I characterize the blend with chocolate, raisins, touch of honey and vanilla, held together with a consistent base of citrus with spice. There is a pleasant saltwater taffy mouth feel and a bit of licorice root. It is the citrus and spice combination which gives it an exotic (yet approachable) character with a slight acidity on the tongue with no burn or bite. In addition, I get a pleasurable post-draw (open mouth) inhale of wintergreen. The combo of the citrus spice and tint of wintergreen is extremely enjoyable. The rest of the descriptions you read about this blend are true, it is mild to medium in taste, aromatics and strength with no bite, even when you challenge it with frequent pulls. This blend will always be in my rotation and I will look to build on this as my new center point.

With an appreciation for what a great blend it is - I will look for a similar flavor profile, with a fuller taste and increase in strength. I give it (3.5 stars out of 4) recognizing that there are - yet to be discovered - other blends out there that may be superior in a similar profile. If anyone can point me to other blends like this but of superior qualities - please do so. Thanks!

This is a very "meh" blend. It was one of the first aromatics I smoked, and it really didn't do it for me. Very mild smoke and it tends to bite a bit.

Mac Baren has a genuine Ace with this tobacco. Packs and Burns well right out of the bag/tin. The aroma in the bag is wonderful, and when smoked,it actually tastes just like it smells. Dark chocolates, and a little vanilla creme. If you like aromatics this has got to be on your list. I’m not much on aromatics myself, but every once in a great while I’ll enjoy one. Seven Seas Regular will be near the top of my list.
