It smells wonderful, however I did not find the taste to match the room note. It has a bitter soapy taste which only gets more bitter further down the bowl. The aftertaste was even worse. It also gooped up my pipe with sludge at the bottom, which is going to have to be deep cleaned out.

I usually dont like Maple blends, but I was snookered into trying this from the local pipe club.
They claimed it actually smoked and tasted like TOBACCO!!!!
Sure enough, the casing came through when I opened the tin, maple it was. I couldnt smell the rum really.
After first light, I was pleasantly surprised as the casing did not overbear the taste of the tobacco.
If you have someone around you that loves IHOP or Waffle House, this blend will surely get their attention because it smells like maple syrup on pancakes.
Definitely 4 stars.

Upon opening the tin, the aroma of rum comes through loud and clear. The tobacco is very thinly cut, and stringy. One of the first things I noticed was the moisture level was really great and not at all wet.
I loosely filled the bowl of one of my Savinelli billiards with Maple Street. I was surprised at how well it took to a match. I was rewarded with a gentle taste of rum and maple, exactly as the description on the tin promised. Not very strong, and certainly not overpowering... it is evident that the guys who came up with this blend wanted the real tobacco taste (mostly Virginia to me) to come through loud-and-clear.
I took my time smoking this blend, and reaped the rewards of a good smoke...no bite and a great flavor...just a simple reminder that one need not spend outrageous amounts of money to buy untra-premium tins of tobaccos to enjoy a truly wonderful and relaxing smoke. I smoked this bowl all the way to the bottom with only two tamps and one match. When finished, I found a dry bowl with a fine, grey ash in the bottom. What more can one ask for?

Good maple taste. I don’t get the rum. Or any rum. Or old rum. Pleasant room note. Good tobacco. Not the best aromatic but a very good maple version. Needs a few more re-lights than usual. What the h—- is usual? Maybe could use some open tin drying? Is this rocket science?

Update:
After some time in the tin, tried this again and boy, its a lot better. Lots of smoke, a distinct maple flavor. Not as good as Autumn Evening but this is a three star aromatic. There is a slight soapy taste which removes the possibility of 4 stars.

This tobacco is like having a really good sweet treat after dinner. The tin note for me is a combination of maple and chocolate with a fresh Virginia aroma. The tobacco has the perfect humidity right out of the tin and burns perfectly with very few relights needed. It definitely has a delicious Maple flavor up front and incredible room note that's sure to please. It really is chock full of Maple sweetness. I only picked up a touch or Rum, but not being a drinker, others may find more in the blend. Overall, its a sweet Maple treat that is thoroughly enjoyable. But like all good sugary treats, once a day is enough - Try it you will like it.

Smoking now:
From the same line as Molto Dolce comes Maple Street! A maple flavored Molto Dolce? No. That’s what I was hoping for but it’s not so don’t think it is. It’s more a kin to the codger blend by a similar name.
The tin note is a nutty sweetness. Some sugar and molasses. Also rum, lots of rum. Not an overly maple aroma but it’s there. Tan colored soft ribbons that packs loose and spongy. Moisture was fine right from the tin. Not goopy nor does it have a wet cased topping.
The taste is predominantly burley. I’m rather adverse to burley so that is going to trigger a negative bias in my opinion however this behaved well for me and did not bite me. Nutty, woody, toasted nuts, molasses are the main flavors for me. There’s definitely a dominant sweet rum flavor here that for me is the best part of this blend and really does the tobacco well. Do I taste maple? Not really. For me it’s more sweet rum and it’s good. The retrohale is more of the same and does tingle my nose. This reminds me of a OTC blend like Rum and Maple however this is done up much better and I enjoy this a lot more. If you like lightly aromatic burley forward blends like that then definitely give this a try it’ll be a treat for you. Burned well, stayed lite well, didn’t bite me or dry my mouth out like other burley forward blends. Maybe that’s due to the Virginia in it and or the topping. Speaking of Virginia it is in there and adds some grassy sweetness. Did leave a little dottle and some moisture in the bowl. All and all it is a premium old time burley forward light aromatic blend. The room note reminded a coworker of the old man who lived next door who smoked a pipe on his porch. As I said it’s reminiscent of an OTC blend but much nicer. I actually didn’t mind this for a burley forward blend even if they not up my maple street or alley. The more I smoke this the more I appreciate it and I’ve found myself grabbing this tin more than I thought.

This is a blend that may fit someone’s palate, but not mine. There’s something off about the maple flavor - to me it tastes like a popsicle stick if you suck innit after finishing a popsicle and the flavor is gone. Outside of that it gives a little chemical residue type flavor that is a real turn-off for me.
I sometimes give blends two stars for the benefit of the doubt someone else might like it - but, this truly deserves less than one star, IMO.
Burns OK, needs plenty of relights as I find most Sutliff aros do even after dry time. There are other much better maple blends available. See Autumn Evening for one of the better and Scotty’s Salmon River for a more mild maple smoke.
