The longer I smoke a pipe the more I have come to prefer the old burley blends. Rum was always a staple in the casings of yesteryear and who doesn't love maple? I'd give this 4 out of 4 but for the slightly bitter aftertaste, which is normal of burley and even more normal of the casing. I don't want my last statement to put you off, there are definitely aromatics out there that are more bitter, goopier if you will, just be aware. I won't give you a fanciful description of every nuance or subtlety, this isn't that kind of girl. This is a tobacco you don't have to think much on. Its sweet, nutty, creamy, with a little rum and a lot of maple. IMO superior to the other popular maple tobaccos out there. I don't want it all the time, but I'm always happy after I finish a bowl.

It is an economical tobacco so no over-promises. However, I found the flavoring overwhelming and somewhat artificial. The tobacco burned somewhat unevenly. I do not intend to buy it again.
