Others have described this better and my short review seems almost an insult to a good blend, but this all I have to say.

This tin was a freebie from a recent online purchase and I am glad it was. In the tin there is a smell of tobacco and maple.. but not the maple syrup kind of maple. It has a very nice aroma. It lit and burned well with the maple still there in the smoke. It is sweet, but not too much. I find it difficult to really describe the excperience with it but I find myself turning to it a few times a week. It is on the good side of aromatics and I am undecided if it will be a regular stock item or not.

The tin aroma of this long, fine ribbon is strongly imbued with rum and maple to which tobacco scents are mostly subsumed.

This is a rather typical blend of white burleys and bright virginias along with a touch of dark leaf, seemingly black cavendish. The topping, bold and authentic, is dominated by the rum and felicitously enhanced by the sweetening effect of the maple.

Maple Street is a commonly themed aromatic which is uncommonly delicious. Rum and maple, ever excellent aromatic choices, make this a constant and companionable delight. It will definitely ghost a briar and went well in a chamber of any gauge.

I have been getting into aromatic blends lately and since my favorite season is right around the corner i decided something maple flavored was necessary. The smell of this stuff is truly fantastic. Im glad i can smell it while i smoke it. The flavor is not as strong as the room note but it still tastes great. Light maple taste and a light burly taste. It is great. Light up a bowl of this close your eyes and imagine your sitting on a bale of hay at a beautiful pumpkin patch. Don't it just take you back. I am going to try autumn evening next but i think maple aromatics and either heavy english or balkan blends are going to be my fall time smokes .

This is a decent aromatic. It has no bite or "gunkiness" about it. The maple taste is crafted really well into the mixture and has a beautiful old-time maple syrup aroma. It has a very refined taste and smoking nature, unlike many aromatics I have smoked. I only smoke aromatics in my corn cob (I would also use a meerschaum if I owned one) which tends to tolerate some of the negative aspects of aromatics better than my briar pipes, so I tend to have pleasant experiences anyway. Like all aromatics though, the taste is bland, with a slight hint of the rum.

Ok first off, I am not quite sure how this tobacco came to me. I have not had any contact with the tobacco company / blender that produces this, much less given out my address to them. So when I recived this I really wasnt sure what to think.

I opened the very large evelope it was in, and saw what it was. I read that it was maple and rum flavored. By far the under statement of the century, by tin aroma anyway. It is so sickeningly sweet in the tin that I literaly had to stuff my nose with cotton to have it open long enough to pack. That being said I tend to dislike extreamly sweet smelling things.

It packed ok I suppose... I was in a hurry to close the tin to be honest. It seemed only a tad bit moist so I set I left the tobacco in the pipe to dry for about 30 minuets.

Start up was easy, With relativly few bad tasteing/smelling amounts of smoke compared to captain black royal (the only other tobacco I have smoked). It didnt seem to burn hot unless I literaly constantly kept puffing. Tounge bite was literaly non-existent with me for this blend. It does seem to burn slightly fast, but I think that was mainly because I was actually trying to get it to bite me.

As far as the flavors go while smoking, it is actually rather pleasent. A subtle spicy ness, fair amount of nutty-ness, a hint of the sweetness of maple syrup, and a dash of what seems to be maple leaves aswell. It is a very good smoke. I only have 1 persons opinion of the room note for now, but that person enjoyed it.

All in all I would have to say that It is a very nicely rounded blend, and I am very lucky to have recived a tin of this, as my cb royal is running low. I would advise smoking it in a clean cob.

A fine aromatic with a marvelous maple room note and a similar maple taste with hints of rum in the background. It reminds me of Dunhill A-21000, with a woodsier taste and similar cut, smell and burning qualities.

From the tin the tobacco is ribbon cut, comprised of about three different shades of brown ranging from light, medium, and dark. The tobacco is fairly moist and sticky to the touch. The aromatic aroma is strong. I smell rum with the maple being a few paces behind. There’s is some butterscotch, caramel, and a touch of vanilla the background.

Upon lighting I am greeted by the boozy and spiced rum. The maple is tied with the rum, and directly behind them are notes of hazelnut, butterscotch, and touch of cinnamon, caramel, and vanilla. The toppings bring a lot of sweetness to the blend. At about the halfway mark the toppings fade into a more muted and less distinct overall sweet note leading the tobacco flavor to show through a little better. The burley offers molasses and nuttiness and rounds the flavor profile. Virginias have some light grass and citrus notes, and are a little tart. They have a little bit of a sharp edge but isn’t noticeable with a controlled cadence.

Maple Street stayed lit well, but could get a little warm if puffed fast. That being said, it never bit me. It smokes dry but left a little moisture in the pipe. There is very little nicotine to be found, so most could smoke this all day if they chose to. 3 out of 4 stars.

Tis’ the season for Maple Street. If someone were to ask me, what’s the ideal morning Vaper I would respond with Maple Street. The sweetness of the Virginias pair well with maple. The Maple itself is not overpowering rather you feel it nudging you in the background as if to say good morning. Regulating your bowl’s temperature is extremely important with this blend as the maple is not a fan of the heat and retreats until the temperature is to its liking. This will leave you with an underwhelming experience. Without maple there is no show. This blend is quite the mood setter. Imagine if you will, outside in the brisk autumn morning with a nice cup of Joe and a bowl of Maple Street while watching the sunrise.

First off, I just want to comment on how spectacular Sutcliff's packaging is. This was my first experience with them, and I was immediately surprised that straight out of the tin, the tobacco was at the perfect moisture level. I thought the tin wouldn't be a great place to store it, but I saw in a video that apparently the tins hold moisture surprisingly well, and so gave it a try. 3 weeks later, and that tobacco is still moist. It's certainly drier, but definitely not crumbling.

Tin note is fantastic, sweet and deep. The room note is similar, a mixture of sweet rum and maple syrup. The topping doesn't contribute much to the flavor, it's still predominantly tobacco-y, but it definitely lends it a light sweetness that makes it a light and east smoke. Few relights needed, not much moisture left, smokes clean and leaves a powdery ash.

With fall coming finally to Georgia (Sort of) I've been trying out some fall tasting aros as part of the ritual of the season.

I picked up some MS during a sale at P&C. Couldn't pass it up for the price.

Popping the tin, the smell was pancakes with maple syrup. Tobacco was not overly sticky or wet and easy to pack into a MM Reverse Calabash. Only one light was needed.

This is one to be sipped, that keeps it from burning hot and helps to bring out the flavors. I get maple, but not the rum. Not overpowering, but I do not get much tobacco taste either, which is not a big deal to me when smoking an aro like this.

As long as it is sipped, no tongue bit and cool smoking.
