Boswell Pipes & Tobacco Paradise
(2.70)
Rich, full-bodied black cavendish with hints of vanilla on the finish. All blended up for a nice mild and flavored smoke. Once lit the vanilla aroma is out of this world, complementing the dark cavendish in a gentle way.

This was the first Boswell blend I tried and it instantly made me a fan. The pouch aroma is heavenly...very sweet and a lot of vanilla. Next to that, the very black color of this cavendish also stands out. It seemed to smoke very cool, and I wasn't exactly going easy on it. No bite at all, and it's a tobacco you can really smoke, not just puff on. It tasted great with a smooth vanilla comming through with a slightly smoky after taste. Not very complex, but just a nice smooth, mild, tasty smoke for someone who enjoys vanilla. The only other thing I can say is I would save this for a quick smoke somewhere inbetween the day. It's defenately not something for the first bowl to get you up and going and it's not quite the "all day smoke". But I like it.

This is the first Boswell Blend that I have ever had the opportunity to try. I have to say that right out of the shipping box ( which it arrived at my door quickly ) was intoxicating. I wasn't sure if I should eat it, or smoke it. I decided to smoke it.
The color is a black in hue. The mositure is balanced perfectly. Absolutely no tounge bite, none what so ever.
I would recommend this to anyone. Probably one of the best I have ever smoked. It is one that is a top favorite. I must confess the only reason that I didn't give this blend 4 stars is that it is rather one dimensional. Still my favorite Vanilla Blend

Black Cavendish at it's best. This is a good all day smoke. Not sticky, lites well and burns even to the bottom of the bowel. I like it and plan on keeping it in rotation. Priced at $2.20 per ounce and a good value.

The description as I have discovered with the Boswell's is far more different than the product results. I just recieved a pack from them which contained five tobaccos: Northwoods; Paradise; Berry Cobbler; Rasberry Cream; Pom Holiday. Of all I tried the Pom Holiday was the most pleasant to smell and taste (which wasn't much better). All of the others produced very weak flavor with a pronounced, poor burn. They burned very hot, you know... and bitter. They must be paying for the good reviews (which some do)...what a crock. My advice try as many different brands as you can and narrow it down to three incredible blends...but this Boswell's is crap. Lane Limited since 1890...BCA...OMG...what an amazing bowl this is. Rich, creamy and FULL of flavor.

Extremely mild, slightly sweet. Not much taste at all. Wife says it smells sweet. No aftertaste. Good social blend.

A very good aromatic. Boswell definitely holds a monopoly in great tasting aromatic blends. This BC blend is a little lighter in taste than Xmas cookie but very wet upon opening. It does bite a little but not very easily, just be aware! Taste and smells of vanilla so expect a pure Vanilla smoke with no other surprises.

I've always been pleased with the Boswell's fantastic aromatic blends, but this one was like sipping some sort of vanilla-flavored syrupy liquid through a straw. While the flavor and room note are in the very least pleasant, it is overwhelmingly sweet. I probably won't smoke this again. However, if crazy sweet tobaccos that have no tobacco taste are your cup o' tea, have at it.
Also, as some other reviewers have mentioned, I had quite a time trying to keep it lit. Don't know if letting it dry out would help, but based on my experience with this blend, I probably wouldn't take the time to do so.

I personally don't like this blend, i feel there is far too much vanilla, if this is j.m.'s idea of paradise he took a wrong turn at Albuquerque. hard to keep lit, won't ever purchase again.

I have three Boswell pipes and have yet to be disappointed by any of them. However, for whatever reason I cannot get their blends to burn cool. Paradise must be the standard Lane BCA or close to equivalent, but from the fine folks at Boswells it turns into a blowtorch for me. I've tried a lot of their blends, but I cannot get them to work. And that's kind of a disappointment, since their Pennsylvania Dutch Treat smells so darn tasty!

I ordered several Boswell Blends to try and this one is definatley Mcclelland's Vanilla Black Cavendish. I have the Boswell sample next to my Ball Jar of VBC and they are the same blend just renamed. Good stuff though, check my review of this blend under Mcclelland VBC. VBC is also present in their Chistmas Cookie blend. Perhaps half VBC and half 1-Q
