This is another high quality product from C&D, but it just did not appeal to my palate. Appearance: typical English blend with the usual mixture of leaves.

Aroma: caramel, a little vanilla, and of course the usual delicious mustiness of an English blend.

Lighting: very easy, two matches max, topping is dry, no stickiness from the flavoring.

Initial Flavor: English with the toppings not too strong at all.

Mid-Bowl: Still English with the topping receding.

Bottom of bowl: Nice, round finish, no chemical aftertaste. Ash is mootled grey and dry.

Overall: I didn't care for the type of caramel topping in this blend. I much preferred the caramel in Peterson's "Sweet Kilarney". This one sometimes smelled liked old soiled diapers, at other times like caramel. Ther was no chemical aftertaste, and that I much appreciated. I much prefer SG's Perfection over this, but I'm still going to test the other C&D blends in the quest for the "perfect" crossover blend.

Rating: 3.75 out of 5 points.

This blend is an eclectic mix of tobacco cuts and sizes. Thin ribbons of Red Virginia and Brite leaf, chunks of Latakia and burley. Minimal stems in my 2oz. larger chunks need to be cut/broken up to maximize burning.

The pouch aroma is that of light smoke, some sweetness and leather.

Once the chunks are broken up, this blend loads, lights and packs with ease. Great moisture content makes this blend ready to smoke on arrival.

Initial lighting is on par with most C&D blends. light/tamp/light and you're good to go!

The majority of this bowl is burley, can be a bit acrid through the smoke. The Latakia is very muted, but if sipped it comes out occasionally. I think this is due to the huge chunks not getting mix in and broken up to the same level as the other tobaccos. The VA complements the burley quite well with its added sweetness.

The vanilla/caramel is done perfectly with a light hand. It offers just enough sweetness to round out the roughness of the burley. This has been a great early morning blend with my coffee the last week here in SE Michigan. Its been hot during the day, but morning low's in the mid-50's. Pack a midsized bowl, grab my coffee and watch the dogs run around the yard before I go to work.

All in all I think this is good blend, especially for those venturing into light lat blends.

This is one of the those infamous "crossover" blends. The tobacco has quite the collection of components with a topping of an aromatic.

The jar I have is from 2018, so I'm not sure if some of the topping has dried off, but to me in the smoke I got the taste of a traditional English with very little sweetness from the topping. The room note however (according to my wife) has a sweetness to it. For comparison purposes, I smoked some "Mountain Camp" side-by-side with this.

The burn is good. It didn't require many relights if any. It burns down without too much moisture. The ribbon burns really well in my Radiator pipes. In the aftertaste, I get a little bit of sweetness, more than in the actual smoke.

This is not a blend I'd probably buy again. So it'll stay in the "2 star" range, but its not a bad smoke by any means.

Good quality tobacco , just not a lot to offer. Seems C&D have quite a few blends that are like this one.

This blend is a pure illustration of what happens when you try to please everyone at once: "Let's take good Virginia, Latakia, and orientals, mix them into an English blend, add some burley, drop in some fruit flavoring, and we'll have..." - and really, what do we have?

The 100 gram jar was frankly aged in appearance and had a 2011 excise stamp. Apparently it had been stored somewhere in a far corner of the warehouse until someone would like to purchase it. So, it was me. Despite the age, the vacuum lid kept the tobacco condition moist enough. Upon opening it, I smelled a completely different flavor than the manufacturer claimed. Instead of the vanilla and caramel soaked in tobacco over the years, I got notes of smoked Cyprus Latakia, the bread smell of Virginia... But all this was interrupted by a strange sour-creamy smell mixed with blackberry, even though nothing that could give such a combination is stated in the composition! I think Turkish with caramel flavoring made such a splash in the jar while aged. The sour smell wears off easily, but the blackberry spirit stays for a long time.

The tobacco is sliced ribbon-like. However, it is possible to distinguish the varieties, even though the Virginia has darkened a bit over the years. The tobacco is a little drier than I am accustomed to, but the humidity is acceptable. It's easy to fill and smoke. The tobacco tastes the same blackberry note, plus a bit of citrus, smoke from the latakia and nut (finally felt a burley!). Virginia is barely felt, and the overall feeling is that the tobacco has a fair share of cavendish - but it's not known to be in the mix. The tobacco has a harsh taste, and also bites a little when smoked in a large pipe. The strength of the tobacco is clearly below average, the nicotine hit is not threatening.

The smoke disperses fairly quickly, it contains smoky and berry notes and is clearly somewhat heavy.

In the end: the desire to create a crossover blend between English and Aromatic led to a very strange mix. It has its own character, but does not evoke any emotions for me. I will finish the can, of course. But this is clearly not my case. "Pasha's Dream" remains a dream.

Smells similar to CD Sweet English just with less of the caramel butter topping more more of a musty Latakia smell.

There’s a lot going on in the blend and nothing seems to jump out at me. There is a slight spicy quality to this. There’s some Latakia taste but it’s subdued by everything else. The topping is there but again, everything is just too even and hard to pic out in it for me. The spicy aspect of this rather turned me off. This blend sat around and I smoked more of CD Sweet English blend than this. It wasn’t a blend for me. It wasn’t bad it just wasn’t something that stood out for me.

Cut is a mix of ribbon and chunky broken flakes. Tin note presents mild Latakia, a little musty orientals, and a touch of Kentucky. I don’t smell the Virginias, but they could be hiding behind the sweet topping. The topping is caramel forward, but not heavily applied.

The smoke is fairly thin and cool, with the mild Latakia taking a slight lead at times, and the orientals making their presence known. The sweet topping is also present in each puff. This is pretty mild on the palette, and I find myself wanting more flavor.

An easy, pleasant, but fairly unremarkable crossover blend.

Received this one in a sample pack of C&D offerings sent from my friends who operate a tobacco shop in TX. As the weather has become cooler going into winter now, I have really been enjoying this blend. It is a lightly aromatic English style blend and the flavoring is unlike any aromatic I have yet tried, a salted caramel sweetness. The caramel pairs very nicely with the smokiness of the Latakia. The blend burns cool and dry, and the overall flavor is very smooth. Conclusion, a great cold weather winter English blend, but not very appealing during the summer.
