Fantastic blend! My favorite cherry aromatic and quite possibly my favorite aromatic.
I purchased an ounce of this to try and will definitely be ordering more in the future. There is no doubt a cherry flavor to this tobacco, but likely not the flavor most would expect when they hear the words cherry aromatic. This is most likely due to the influence of the secret GH sauce taste that is in the background. The cherry and some really good leaf make this smoke a real treat.
An added benefit as I find with all GH smokes, is how cool they smoke; and this one shares that characteristic as well. If you are one to cry soap and the taste of an unflavored GH blend, you probably will not enjoy this blend as much as I did. But I can't recommend this one enough and already have on many forums.

Top Black Cherry is the best cherry aromatic I have ever had the pleasure of smoking. The black and brown, heavily fermented Cavendish tobaccos most likely began life as top quality Virginia leaf, based on the decent tobacco flavor profile which provides ample foundation for the heavy, black cherry liquor casing which hits you like a ton of bricks before you even open the inner pouch. In fact, you can smell it before you crack open the tin. The tin aroma carries forth beautifully in the room note and smoke flavor.
To me the flavor and aroma seem very natural even tho it is very STRONG. I don't understand how anyone can rate this as having "medium" flavoring. They must have dried it out completely, or received it dry. My tins arrived very moist with the inner bags sealed tight. I like it straight out of the tin even tho it's a tad drippy this way. And forget about smoking anything else in the same pipe.
I enjoy maybe three bowls of this 'dessert' each week, and love it! Performs best very tightly packed in a deep/narrow, chimney-type bowl shape. Lights easily and burns well.

After trying every cherry flavored tobacco I could get my hands on I have to say this is the best of the bunch. It has a nice authentic cherry flavor. It also has a noticeable amount of nicotine.
Cherry tobacco that tastes like real cherries. What more do I need to say?

Of all the aromatics I have tried to date this one is by far my favorite. It is much stronger in flavor and taste than most others and the room note is amazingly pleasant.
It is a little on the moist side and a little difficult to keep lit at first but as the tin is opened and dried a bit it gets much easier to keep lit. There is a bit of goopyness so regular pipe cleaning is necessary.
I intend to keep this one in my rotation.

This Nancy is an an excellent Lakeland aromatic. Upon open the tin, ones notices a coarse rough cut jet black Cavendish with a lovely cherry note. Upon properly drying the baccy, this blends provides a very pleasant floral-cherry taste with a pleasant room note. It smokes cool and clean with modest relights necessary. A brilliant cherry blend in a genre of sub-par cherry blends. This is well worth a go for the intrepid Lakeland Aromatic smoker. Happy Puffing...

Pure cherry with an almost cursory touch of vanilla and a unique 'green' taste that pokes through occasionally. It reminded me of some homemade wine I had once that taste as though a leaf or stem or two made it into the mash. This stuff is silky and delicious. No bite. Very moist. A constant and never boring flavour from start to finish. The room note is marvelous. Happy chicks around the campfire. One of three Cherry Aros I bought and maybe the most distinct.

After a decade of smoking unflavoured English and Virginia mixtures, I have recently embarked on a journey to discover some of the finest aromatics out there. Though not without occasional disappointments, the exercise has been a rewarding one. Not least thanks to blends like the one being reviewed here. The Top Black Cherry is, without a doubt, one of the finer aromatic blends out there. Rather moist in the tin, a little drying out will benefit the bowl immensely. The smoke itself is dry and never bites, quite unlike many similar blends out there. The flavor is subtle cherry, woven through with wafts of sweet Cavendish of the highest order. Te ghost remains in the pipe, to be sure, but I would never smoke an aromatic in a pipe not dedicated to the genre. Gawith & Hoggarth's Top Black Cherry is a gourmet aromatic of the finest order.

Wow! I am enjoying this blend. A very nice Dark-Cherry taste and aroma, BUT ,,,, I noticed it takes several days of being opened to develope the taste more fully. Somehow exposure to oxygen matures the cherry note and it improves. Upon opening the flavor is there but a bit hard to identify. I have had the tin open for about 2 weeks and the results are fantastic, descent tobacco strength, and a perfect cherry tang. Try drying some on a plate overnight to get the best results. I have never been impressed by cherry blends but this one is top notch, If you enjoy aromatics and high quality cavendish, this blend is for you. This blend is in my top 5 best blends of all time. Well done Gawith and Hoggarth !!!! 4 stars ****
Update 6-6-16
I have almost finished the tin and this is going to end up being one of the top 5 favorite blends of all time for me. Quite possibly the perfect pipe tobacco, if you enjoy aromatics, and if you don't, this one might make a convert out of you LOL 🙂
I'm saving the empty tin and going to order a pound of this in bulk. We've all had those blends that were barely smokeable,,,, and those blends that we "fear" to run out of because we love them so much,,, I don't ever want to be "out" of Top Black Cherry.
Cheers !! 🙂

Opening the tin, I get a deep vanilla smell, with maybe some cherry liqueur and just a tiny floral whiff that tells me it's from the Lake District. The leaf is all tacky black Cavendish, but it fluffs and loads flawlessly.
I get a mild cherry flavor and a lot of sweetness after the bowl is going, but the thing that jumps out at me is that this is some silky smooth, creamy Cavendish. It is absolutely delightful, and the cherry flavoring doesn't get in the way of the Cavendish at all.
GQ tobaccos lists this as Exclusiv Black Cherry as well, perhaps a merger between the two reviews? Either way, I love to keep a tin of this at the ready.

Well I have always liked well done aromatics and this is one of the best I have ever tried. It is a pitch black tobacco which worried me. I have tried simular looking tobaccos and found them to burn wet plus they always seemed to be touched with vanilla. Well this had no wetness upon lighting and stayed lit with no problem for me. The taste to me is pretty much a good tobacco with a flick of cherry here and there. The room note to me leaned to a baked cherry flavor/scent. Rather dark maybe a lil spiced very decent and it did not scorch my tongue. This burned rather cool for me. Plan to buy more for when I want a refined cool burning aromatic.
