Peterson Sweet Killarney
(2.24)
A unique mixture of selected tobaccos including golden Virginia and black cavendish, topped with a cream caramel flavor. To make this wonderful tobacco even more attractive, it is blended with hand-rubbed Virginia flake which results in a fantastic aroma.
Notes: Due to EU regulations, this is now renamed and sold in those countries as "Killarney".

I liked this tobacco. It has a sweet taste, but not so much as to make you think you have food in your mouth. Light enough not to get on your nerves. The smell is VERY nice! Very good room note. I received a few compliments from non-smokers and smokers alike. I was surprised to find that this one didn't bite like others I have tried. This is one I imagine I will rotate for a long time. I do imagine that if you smoked it everyday, it would get a little boring. Nice after a meal in the evening.

Being a mild and feathery blend, Killarney’s key component of caramel contributes cozy characteristics to its compound, roles least expected. It adds a creaminess to the smoke’s texture that’s buttery and sweet. It elevates the natural sugars of the contained virginias. It also materializes a toasty coconut note and warms the room with a luxurious aroma. Delicious. As the finish nears, the butteriness intensifies, the sweetness hovers, the coconut fades; it’s a proper ending to a good story told. The only thing stopping the aromatic lover from having a back to back bowl is time itself. Hot chocolate or a mocha beverage pairs excellently with this blend. Can be an all day smoke. Little bowl moisture. Little to no bite.

Smell from a newly-opened tin is very sweet, almost sickly sweet. Melted vanilla ice cream. It’s an attractive blend, looks like red and bright Virginias with flecks of black cavendish. Not seeing any flake; this is a pretty standard ribbon cut. It’s a little wet, so I portion out a bowl’s worth on the tin lid and give it some drying time.
When I do get around to lighting up, the flavor follows the nose. Melted vanilla ice cream, a little milk chocolate. Some sharp woodiness on the retrohale.
Taste and body are on the thin side. I don’t feel much in danger of tongue bite, but I’m wary of pulling too hard on this one. More’s the pity: this is really very mild. Are other people getting notes of the Virginia, burley and Maryland? I taste a very mild aromatic that does smoke coolly and doesn’t knock you around with nicotine. As inoffensive as 1-Q, and in fact smokes like a toned-down version of that. I don’t love it, I don’t hate it. I can think of a dozen other tobaccos I’d rather smoke.

Not my cup of tea, even for a no nic aro.
Smells great in the tin but it doesn't transfer to the smoke. Sweetish and bitey.

My first ever review of killarney. For me, killarney is a very pleasing smoke, i do like aromatic tobbaco, i have a bit of a sweet tooth, i find it to be smooth, no bite for me..the case is good as it delights my sweet tooth.

Why so many people hate it? As a new pipe smoker , i have good feelings when smoking this tobacco. I have just emptied my first tin of it and i would say "No bites at all". I love how it lights even if it was a bit moist. The caramel and fruity aromas definitly made others to turn they heads and ask what i was smoking and feeled pleased with the smell(exept my wife). Its so sweet as the name and tends to be a litle strong in the end. I have tried aromatics and non-aromatics and i have decided: i will stay with aromatics forever...there will be people who will disagree with my opinion but hey, it makes me happy and nothing wlse matters.

This pipe tobacco all i can say is wow. Just wow. Honesty, where do I begin. Once in the tin you get a mixed smell of citrus, fruits, honey and it all comes together to smell like Christmas pudding. I couldn't believe it to the point I asked my family what they thought it smelt like and they all said oohhh "Christmas pud". The texture of the tobacco is light, almost fluffy, lots of different colours being a mix of Cavendish's.once packed you light up and the room is filled with the same notes that's in the tin. Same as the tongue, now alot of you pipe smokers will agree that you usually find the taste isn't quite the same as the smell in the tin. Well my pipe smoking friends this is, this tastes just the same as it smells. It's a fantastic tobacco that I will be ordering again. I'm not sure why I have not tried peterson pipe tobaccos sooner, all I can say is. If there all like this one then they should start selling it in supermarkets, corner shops. Somewhere it's easy to get hold of. I will be ordering a few tins for the Christmas holidays that's for sure.

This was my first ever pipe tobacco. Now I'm pretty advanced on the palate for aromatics and I can attest this one improves during the smoke, particularly the second half. Notes of vanilla and toasted marshmallow, are underlain with strong graham cracker up front, maybe a tiny bit of Tullamore whiskey sweetness. Not too bad, really, and the flavors are very mild. Has a bit of a "kick" of tobacco nicotine strength more than normal.

This was one of the first tins I purchased, and I was attracted by the Caramel flavour. The tin aroma is awesome, simply awesome. Once lit, the tobacco provides a nice aroma, although the heavy casing tends to make this tobacco burn hot quickly. So, be careful with your draws. Honestly, I find there are other tobaccos which are worse than this, so...if you are an aromatic guy, you might consider purchasing this!

A friend of mine posed a question "If you are stranded on a desert Island with baccy. which blend(s) would you have?" And as for english blends I had many, but for aromatics, it was this one, no competition. A really great aromatic.. smooth... , good burner, gives a lot of complements on room note
