Peterson 3 Years Cask Aged English Mixture

Different Virginia grades are aged in old oak barrels for at least three years together with a tiny portion of Black Cavendish and a noticeable portion of Louisiana Perique. This makes it a thoroughly full-bodied, mildly spicy blend, which is given further depth of taste by flavoring with whiskey from the Danish distillery Braunstein.

This is one of the first mixes I bought - after recently catching up with pipe smoking .. long brake of 20 years almost. Ok, straight to the tobacco:
It is a mix of Virginia, Black Cavendish and Lousiana perique. At the opening, the tin smells nicely of something slightly fruity and whiskey. The smoke is earthy, nutty. Woody. Smokes well, dense, pleasant with no dottle and no residues (at least not often). I smoked this mix regularly for several months and it did not disappoint me one single time. Towards the end of the tin it got a bit dry and perhaps slightly bitter, but that could be due to what I added to revive it (some few drops of grappa). Overall a good impression. I would get it again, once I finish all the cans I have to try still...
I usually do not like aromatics but I make an exception for this one (as well as the R&M). My favorites are usually burleys and oriental/balkan mixes. Somehow the earthy/woody aromas of this mix are of my liking and make this mix a nice way to alternate between burleys and latakias without missing my favorite falvors.
