King Smoking Pipes and Cigars King Frog Morton

(2.50)
King Frog Morton is the result of our long-time effort to reproduce the now discontinued McClelland Frog Morton pipe tobacco. We won't claim it to be an exact match, but we believe we've come up with a satisfying blend that reproduces Frog Morton's silky smooth mouthfeel and rich, Latakia character. Whether or not you've ever smoked the original McClelland Frog Morton, we're sure you'll love this delightful English mixture.

Never had the original Frog Morton line but all in all this is a somewhat pleasant if not very highly topped English blend with a sweet bourbon/vanilla topping I believe. I love all of those constituent parts so this is pretty delicious to me. Sort of a Boswell’s Northwoods turned up to 11. I like it, I don't love it. No discernible nic hit to me, a little difficult to keep lit for me. Pretty sticky when I got it, could use some dry time.

I was a fan of Frog Morton Cellar. Eyver since McClelland shuttered their doors I have been looking for a replacement. This is advertised as a replacement for Frog Morton, which I have never tried, so I can only review on its own merits. It has a sour pungent smell in the bag. After smoking a couple of ounces it turns out to be a decent English, not too latakia forward. I favor it in the mornings. It is consistant throughout the bowl and doesn't smoke too hot. The taste has a subtle sweetness. Fairly mild with no nic hit. Easy to smoke. I think this is a pretty darn good tobacco. 3 solid stars. I'd be interested to see what you all think. Is it like Frog Morton?
