King Smoking Pipes and Cigars King Frog Morton

(2.50)
King Frog Morton is the result of our long-time effort to reproduce the now discontinued McClelland Frog Morton pipe tobacco. We won't claim it to be an exact match, but we believe we've come up with a satisfying blend that reproduces Frog Morton's silky smooth mouthfeel and rich, Latakia character. Whether or not you've ever smoked the original McClelland Frog Morton, we're sure you'll love this delightful English mixture.

Recently acquired some King Frog Morton, the knock off version of my long time favorite blend and I would like to do a little review on it. Let me first start by saying that I am very familiar with the entire line of Frog Morton tobaccos. Such a fan am I that I had a painting made of the Frog on a Log label that has adorned my wall for a decade. I have seen where a couple people said it wasn't horrible but the majority has spoken ill of it. I realize that it certainly won't be identical and that many people seem to romanticize some of the older legendary blends, sometimes more than they should without really giving any "match" blends a chance. I went into it with an open mind, I have had many match blends that even though they weren't perfect were still absolutely great.

Without further ado; this is just my humble opinion, I am personally amazed by this company. Amazed at the audacity they have of giving it this name. The tobacco itself is like someone ordered Frog Morton from Wish, it is absolutely terrible! Someone likened it to to the taste of a burning tire, I thought that was nonsense. It clearly tastes like burning rubber bands. I got roughly â…” of the way through the bowl and the noxious flavor just kept intensifying. It bears no resemblance to any of the Frog Morton line in any way shape or form. At that point I dumped it. Thank God I smoked it in a cob. If I don't like a certain tobacco I typically jar it and revisit it down the road. That will most likely not be happening with this one.
Pipe Used: MM corncob
