Not a great blend, but not as bad as some reviews say. It is what it is, an OTC blend that obviously sells well somewhere. I don't smoke many cherry blends. This one isn't too bad. Nothing about this blend stands out. It is a blend to smoke when one doesn't need to think about what is in the bowl. The cherry flavor and the tobacco flavor are not strong, but they aren't absent, either. This might make a good beginner blend, but the beginner needs to know there are better cherry blends out there.

I always have a pouch of this tobacco at home and i like very much the flavouring although it seems everything but natural.
At pouch opening: very pleasant and definite smell of cherry and lightly sweet vanilla.
At touch: moisture is perfect. Cut ready to load.
Loading and lighting: I prefer to let it dry a couple of minutes, easy to load, and easy to light and keep burning.
Smoking: nice, sweet and mild, no tongue bit, no artificial taste. Burns well with no moisture.
Room note: sweet and pleasant, i received many feedbacks in various situations from people around me
The after taste mild, not too persitent.
I use to smoke it as an all day and i ghosted many of my briars with this one.
I would rate it 2.8

now called borkum riff ruby in the UK due to stupid laws. so what can I say about this....hmmmm not a lot to be honest. cut wise it's perfect it's moisture level is perfect it packs perfect and it smokes evenly right to the bottom of the bowl to a fine grey ash, doesnt bite and hardly requires a relight...great.
but the biggest upset to this is it's flavour. to me it tastes like a cherry cough sweet, it's not a natural cherry flavour, its a very artificial one and it is one I can't along with sadly as the other borkum riff tobaccos I have tried are very enjoyable.
it's a shame because I think borkum riff could of had some fantastic here, if they used a natural cherry flavourings then this could of been perfect. unfortunately this isn't the case. I will give this tobacco 2 stars for the plus points I mentioned above, if it didn't have these plus points then it would be far lower.

Again I think tobacco snobs give this low rating because it's Borkum Riff. I love how this smokes great right out of the pouch. Great cherry flavor. If you are a heavy puffer and don't have a slow and smooth cadence or new to pipe smoking. This could cause bite. But I love the smooth smoke and great balence of tobaccos.

I'm just about to buy some BRCC because of all the great reviews. But reading some of the comments about the price people have to pay for tobacco in the US and the UK and Europe...really cracks me up. Because here in Oz, we are paying $65 Oz dollars for 1.6 ounces/50 grams for a packet. That's $49 US dollars and 40 British quid and 46 Euro's. So guys when you think 13 quid or $10 US dollars etc is getting a bit expensive, just think of us here in Oz, paying the prices mentioned above.

Rough smoke, tickles my throat in a bad way. The first time I smoked this months ago I thought maybe it was my inexperience and threw it away thinking it was just horrid compared to my other tobaccos I bought. Gave it a try one more time because I do remember getting these few but pleasant hits of cherry like in a candy way. Went alot slower, still rough on my throat, cherry is kind of there in this pack not like the last, Ill review again when I let it sit.
Made my pipe stink, room note doesn't smell that great as the smoker, don't know about surrounding people.
Overall I don't recommend, there is a 'presence' of nicotine and there is some artificial candy taste, but rough on the throat and messes up your pipe, DO NOT use it in a pipe you care for.

This is the only cherry aromatic I have tried and I liked it. I am sure there are better ones out there somewhere but this is a nice smoke. As growing up in Sweden Borkum Riff has nostalgic vibe to it. This brand has been around for quite some time. So it can´t be that bad, right?!
The pouch is nice to look at, but the tin art work was better in the old days. The tobacco smell from the pouch is really nice. It was a little to wet when I opened it though. Very easy to pack and light. I burns fast, yes, but I don´t think it burns hot very easy and it does not bite you or get harsh. Nice grey ash that just fall out of the pipe when you scrape it.
When the tobacco is really fresh you taste like cherry coke in your mouth, but hey, I like cherry coke! The only negative thing is that the cherry taste doesn´t last very long and if you smoke only now and then as I do, after a couple of weeks it´s completely gone. But maybe that is a common problem with these aromatics? But even when it lost it´s cherries it leaves you with a nice mild smoke, no need to trash it just because the cherry taste is gone.

This was the third tobacco I tried when I picked back up the pipe, and I have to agree with many others on here: utter garbage. It smells wonderful in the pouch, got me excited loading the pipe, I'll even say the first few puffs kept that excitement going. But, I don't think I lasted 5 minutes before I was scraping it out. Horrid flavor, wicked bite and left my pipe smelling like an old ashtray. Never again.

This was my first tobacco that I smoked and I was drawn to it by it's sweet auroma. I still smoke it in occasion and I find it to be great if you mix it with a stronger tobacco with no flavouring.
