Rich black cavendishes together with a generous amount of sweet cherry generate a room aroma second to none. With satisfaction for both the smoker and the surrounding company, Black Cherry Cavendish is a "must" for lovers of aromatic tobaccos.

Bought this in 2 x10gram pouches as I hadn't smoked it before and didn't fancy splurging out on a 50 or 100g. Glad I didn't, I found this tobacco rough and biting whilst being mild with only a hint of cherry and not much of a tobacco hit. I was surprised that it was almost dust like in appearance, not at all like the pictured tobacco. Half way down the bowl the tip of my tongue was burning and I had to stop for a drink. On the plus side it burns to a smooth white ash albeit all to quickly. In future I'll stick to Kentucky Black Cherry when indulging in an aromatic. I'll keep the rest for blending.

Conclusion: More of a shisha tobacco than a pipe tobacco, this is to be handled and understood as such. That means that this is to be enjoyed instead of coffee and biscuits, not as a start of the day or a relaxation at the end of it. In a garden during summer, over a conversation, this absolutely has a place. The room note is wonderful, even my tobacco hating wife approved.
Taste: The notes are floral and artificial, in absolutely no way does this taste like cherry. Rather I would compare it to a Lipton fruit tea, where the taste is more of a mix of sensations reminiscent of the fruit it sets out to emulate than the fruit itself. It is not unpleasant though, it is actually quite nice. Like smoking a shisha, rather than a pipe. That is what it sets out to do, as I understand it. It takes on a deeper, bitter kind of note halfway through the bowl, but it never drops that floral character. I actually find it a bit overwhelming towards the end, a bit nauseating. But I usually stick to non aromatics, so that might explain it. That said, this nausea hit me while I smoked Grousemoor as well, so it might be due to the components used by Samuel Gawith.
Mechanics: Ribbon cut, quite moist so it will need some drying out. No bite. Medium nicotine.

This aromatic is nice. Let it dry a little before smoking. The Cherry flavour is very distinct and doesn't taste or smell artificial. Good begging smoke and one to keep in rotation if you like cherry.

Mild and tasty. Smells nice for you and for your company. Just a regular aromatic blend that I wouldn't crave for it. It is a good change from time to time though...

One of my more preferred cherry aromatics, this one achieves a lovely, sweet scent of field-ripened cherries, a scent that here in Australia, is reminiscent of Christmas. Its a jolly smoke that leaves a light room note that i am told is "not too bad at all". I feel that gawiths black cherry is ready to go, straight out of the tin/pouch, so for those all about the experience of preparation, i dont suggest it. Its far more of a pack-and-go type of tobacco than a relax and ponder tobacco. So if you are after a ready to smoke, mild cherry workers friend, look no further

Beautiful and nice aroma of a classic black cherry. When u open the tin u fall in love with this one. When u smoke it u dont wanna live without it. When u light it its so delicious and mild that I inhale it. After the quarter of a bowl I dont inhale becoz it gets strong. the cool smoke stays tastes like black cherries right till the end. Its an all day smoke for me. I always smoke it in morning when I get up becoz I can inhale it. Nof recommended but prescribed for everyone out there.

Very very wet in the tin. Takes for ever to dry and get ready for pipe. The taste is not good. Burns very hot no matter how slow you puff. But it is very nice smelling. Would not purchase again. Peace

Very sweet and sticky tobacco. It tasted nice at first, but quickly became cloying and too sweet. Definitely not something you would want to smoke every day.

SG black cherry mixes luxuriously with Condor original, one part cherry to two parts Condor or thereabouts, for a complex Lakeland perfume with the emphasis on cherry. Condor provides the nicotine strength. 4/4
