This blend needs a little dry time fresh out of the tin, but I wouldn't let it dry out completely. A medium cherry taste with a hint of vanilla and chocolate. You won't get much of a tobacco taste from the black cavendish. There's no chemical or artificial notes to the toppings. It can get slightly harsh near the end if you're a fast puffer. It won't bite. The strength is a step past the cenetr of mild to medium. The taste is medium. The nic-hit is barely mild. Burns a little slow, clean and mostly cool with a very consistent flavor. Needs some relights, and leaves a little moisture in the bowl. Has an attractive aftertaste, and pleasant room note. A nice morning and/or after dinner smoke when you're in the mood for tobacco in this genre. Not quite an all day smoke.

Another adventure form Samuel Gawith. As with all their flavoured blends, the high quality of the tobacco itself, makes them work.
The flavouring agent in this case, black cherry, accentuates the quality tobacco-never overpowering the base.
I find this to be a nice change of pace tobacco. Not an all day smoke, rather, a sort of dessert treate for once and a while.
It did need a couple of relights and tamps before settling down.
It burns to a dull-grey ash with a dry dottle.

I had some bad experiences from straight cavendish blends but none from S.Gawith so i purchased this one.tin description prepares you for a heavy aromatic and probably one dimentional smoking experience.when the tin opens a heavy and natural cherry smell comes out.the blend is black cavendish with a few virginia pieces here and there.the moisture is high and some drying time is needed.packs ok and lights with some effort.several relights are needed through the process.while smoking the flavours are natural and one dimentional.A nice cherry flavour is there from the beginning till the end.some chocolate and toasty notes also support the flavour.virginia pieces give nothing to the taste.generally the flavours are natural and pleasing.burns slow and medium hot to total ash with a lot moisture created at the end of the bowl and the filter.the nicotine level is a pinch above low and thhe aftertaste very nice.room note is natural and pleasant.some tongue bite might appear if smoked fast and hard.though it can be smoked all day it is not an all day smoke because it can be boring.

Top shelf tobacco, very aromatic but not overdone or sickly sweet. Cherry is the tin smell but also smoking experience. Burns well, no bite and minimal moisture. Not a favourite but that's probably just because of the flavour profile, I prefer vanilla, toffee or nuts for my aromatics. That aside, it's good for a change every now and then.

One of the best black cavendish tobaccos with added cherry essence..... An easy and delicios smoke...although probably not for every day. like a fresh cake from a nice baker, this is a high quality satisfaction. The base Black Cavendish tobacco is of good quality and the topping tastes natural, not chemical.

This is a lovely aromatic . As mentioned in another review the tin art is uninspiring . On opening the tin I was surprised at the lack of cherry aroma - not sure if this was just my tin . The tobacco is dark and very moist out of the tin - too wet to smoke I found . The initial few bowls did not inspire me- although the room note is fantastic and will convert even the harshest anti smoking zealot . As the tin dried out over 4 weeks so the real qualities of this tobacco revealed themselves. This is a perfect after dinner "pudding smoke". Sweet and smooth and aromatic in the best sense of the word. There is little complexity here but then it isn't trying to be complex. It gives no tongue bite and leaves a delicious sweet texture in the mouth. Whilst I wont be stockpiling this I will certainly return to it at some point in the future.

I love a black cavendish, but a bit too much on the cherry for my liking, but then what did I expect, it is, after all "Black Cherry" ended up mixing it with Golden Glow (see review) I smoke a lot of Sam Gawith's offerings and if you fancy a cherry black cavendish, this would be a good one to try.

Oh yes, cavendish with cherry flavor. Not overwhelmed, really delicious. Little vanilla from tobacco. This is what you smell after opening. Presentation is not very pleasant. Sometimes powder instead of tobacco cut. My sample was little dry. Yes, SG and I need to moisture it. Burns well cherry toping disappear in the end of bowl. I believe there is also some kind of alcohol in flavoring added. (Whiskey, rum or kins of liqueur) Don need an relight. Easy all day smoke.
