Is this really from Captain Black???

This is good stuff!!! No chemical taste. Burns cool.....for a Captain Black blend. Taste like a sweeter, nuttier version of White. And actually has a tobacco taste to it too!

I smoke alot of English tobaccos, which has been getting boring lately. So a decent aromatic is a good change of pace. I love the White, but this to me is way better!

Nothing to this stuff really. Just smoke it and go about your day.

If you enjoy burley blends, you'll love this one. I had been wanting to try it since it was introduced but never thought about it until after I placed a tobacco order. I'm very glad I finally tried it! I like this even more than CB Dark, and I liked that one very much. This one doesn't rely on the topping so much and lets the tobaccos do the talking. It has a slightly nuttier pouch note with the very familiar CB vanilla topping mixed in. It packs fine and wasn't too moist fresh from the bag. The nuttiness definitely carries over into the smoke. I assume the Virginias add the slight tangy-sweetness. One would think that the vanilla flavor would be ever present, but I actually think it tastes more like caramel. It's a great smoke that I found myself looking for throughout the day. Definitely another winner from the ol' Captain!

This is a good very mild vanilla aromatic. Not wet, no chemical taste, hardly any rough edges. Some tobacco flavor, mainly light burley. i find this too bland to hold much interest. But others may enjoy this for all day puffing without any concern for flavor overload or nicotine (there's little). A number of bulk and tin vanilla aros are, in my opinion, quite superior for tobacco flavor and quality and not necessarily more expensive. Mac Barens Vanilla Cream and others come to mind. As a tobacco only available by mail order, that's my comparison group. Two and a half stars.

I have not smoked an aromatic in years. For the most part smoke English and Burleys. However, Pipes and Cigars had a deal - 3 packs of Captain Black, and a pipe for 29 bucks.

Frankly I enjoyed the Black Copper, it burns a bit hot, so I had to sip it, but it had a nice taste and it was enjoyable.

Wonderful! Sort of reminds me of a Heath candy bar. The room note is incredible. The vanilla is there but not center stage. It seems to be cooler than Captain Black Regular, and certainly, it does not bite like Cherry Captain Black. This is my favorite Captain Black blend.

This is a really nice aromatic with a vanilla toffee taste that is not overwhelming. I do like most captain black blends, even though I know many look down on them. This is good stuff. especially with a little 5 brothers mixed in for some punch.

This is what I consider my go-to pipe tobacco. You get a Nutty semi-sweet cocoa taste that is not too strong but enough to keep you interested throughout the smoke. This blend also Burns very well with plenty of billowing smoke, which due to the amount of Burly in it burns fairly cool. I have tried other Captain black Blends but this one for me is the best, the others such as white, Royal and Cherry have a chemical like taste with very light flavor. Captain black copper has much more taste compared to these others in my opinion. After buying a pouch I decided to go ahead and buy the 12 ounce can. If you have not tried this blend yet do yourself a favor and pick up a pouch to try and you may be pleasantly surprised. great job Captain black on this blend!

I started out smoking Captain Black Original when I was a teen. THIS IS NOTHING LIKE ORIGINAL. I am not usually strong on blends that have burley as the dominent tobacco, but this is the exception. The burley really works well in this blend. Smooth, packed well, easy to light does not burn hot and no bite, even when pushed!

When you open the pouch there is a vanilla smell, but with a definite pure tobacco aroma as well. The pouch I received was just about right in moisture and was ready to go right out of the box. The best way to light this stuff is with a charring light, a tamp, and then a full light. After that, the tobacco stays lit all the way down the bowl. The smoke is full and the first few puffs remind you of the sweet smell from the pouch. This, however, soon gives way to a straight tobacco taste which is very mild and forgiving of fast puffing. With the Virginia and Burley, the stuff achieves a kind of taste that one might associate with steeping tea in a cast iron pot. I say that the the taste is sort metallic, but in a good way. I would guess that is why it was called Copper in the first place. It is very interesting for a tobacco in this genre. The taste stays the same all the way down to the bottom of the bowl. The ash is fine and jumps out with a knockand the pipe is left dry and ghost-free. The aroma is something unusual for the Captain Black line. The wife absolutely hates it. This is the first Captain Black blend that has not been appreciated. Fortunately, it does not linger. The Nicotine level seems low to me and there is no after taste to contend with. And, one more thing, it does not really pair with coffee as most Burley blends seem to be able to do. Overall, a mild blend perfect for those aromatic smokers looking to venture into Burley-based blends. I can't say that I will buy this again and again, but it is a nice change of pace from the usual Captain Black offterings.
