Newminster No. 9R Rich Vanilla
(2.33)
High grade Brazilian flue cured tobaccos make the base of Newminster's blend No.9, Rich Vanilla. Gently transformed into a loose and mild cavendish. The sweetness of the cavendish tobacco together with the vanilla flavor gives a delightfully mild, sweet vanilla smoke.

Newminster - No. 9R Rich Vanilla.
Oh, what a contentious moron I feel when reviewing a blend with only one review to date where the writer loathes it and I like it. C'est la vie!
Rich Vanilla has an entertaining appearance, most of the ribbons are as pointy as nails, there's some small ones, and one or two broken flakes. The aroma's one of vanilla and it's in need of a short airing.
The black Cavendish gives the blend some gloop, yet the Virginia Cavendish creates a honey-grassiness, which kind of placates the gloopiness. The vanilla topping requires no looking for, whatsoever: right away it's presence goes without question. But although there's no equivocation regarding the vanilla I don't find it too strongly flavoured. It's aromatic but not sickly; but, anyone who's ever bothered to read one of my reviews will know I like a heavy vanilla aromatic! So, objectively speaking, strong the added flavour is! The burn from 9R's slow, cool, and the smoke's comfortable on the palate: thick and bite-free.
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: lovely.
No. 9R Rich Vanilla? It satisfies my craving for a vanilla aromatic nicely! Highly recommended:
Four stars.
