Houston Pipe Club The Heights
(3.67)
The Heights is a blend from our friends at the Houston Pipe Club. It's an intriguing mixture of two types of red Virginia, fragrant Turkish, dark-fired Kentucky, unflavored black Cavendish and a good splash of Cyprian Latakia. The blend is smoky sweet and a bit earthy, producing volumes of thick smoke. See for yourself what they're smoking in the great state of Texas.
Notes: Blended and tested by Members of the Houston Pipe Club. Member Mark Berman named the blend after the historic Heights area of Houston.

The smoky, musty, earthy, woody sweet Cyprian Latakia is the lead component. The tangy, dark fruity, earthy, woody, lightly bready red Virginias play a support role, and competes for attention with the floral, herbal, earthy, dry, woody, lightly spicy, buttery sweet and savory Turkish. The woody, earthy, floral, spicy, smoky, dark fired Kentucky is an important condiment. The unsweetened black cavendish provides a little smoothing brown sugar. The nic-hit is in the center of mild to medium. The strength and taste levels are medium. No chance of bite or harshness, and has no dull moments. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace with a fairly rich and consistent mildly sweet and more savory, campfire flavor from top to bottom. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a pleasantly lingering, campfire after taste and stronger room note. Not quite an all day smoke. Three and a half stars. Reminds me of Black House.
