Peter Stokkebye Black Cherry
(2.63)
Mature Virginia tobaccos have been added to a blend of choice African, Brazilian and other exotic tobaccos. Wide ribbon cut for a slow burn and cool smoke. A fruity vanilla flavour gives this blend the balance in flavour and room note that is desired by some pipe smokers.
Notes: Replaced by Black Cherry Cavendish (No.302).

A light but powerful tobacco, it's very aromatic and some people would say soapy, I would however refer to this flavouring as "floral" and like a smoother version of the pungent orientals which characterise the Dunhill blends. The exotic tobacco from Africa etc. must be to blame. A lovely room note and pleasant vanilla after taste melt comfortably into the dark cherry mid-bowl and the sweet nut virginia flavours towards the end. I think of it as a slow walk round our orchard - picking a few ripe cherries and then taking a few hazelnuts as you leave!
Coarse cut means that I found lighting a bit of a hassle, but the persitance was well worth it, as a slow puff every now and again holds it steady. The dottle is as expected from a Cavendish blend, but not as much as the Kendal/Exclusiv type black mixtures.
Over here in England it is expensive loose in its class and I have yet to see it in pouches/tins.

P/S Cherry contain's a smooth sweet creaminess as well as strength. The taste is full bodied cavendish laced with cherry flavouring & showed no sign of bite to me.This tobacco is very dark & if not packed to tightly is easy to light.I found this to taste & behave exactly as it was described.Whan I feel like something sweet with a bit of a kick to it, I smoke this. It may not be for everyone but I keep it on hand & enjoy the change. Those around me love the rich smell. (In it's own class) I'll give it 3 Star's out of 4.
