McCranie's Pamlico
(1.67)
An easy going, soft aromatic for the man who wants an all-day smoke that is not heavy. Orientals, Eastern Belt Carolina and a special black Cavendish provide plenty of satisfaction.

The Virginias are grassy with some citrus. The Eastern Carolina leaf offers citrus with a drop of honey and grass. The liberal amount of black cavendish provides vanilla, and often tones down the woody, smoky, light spice from the Oriental/Turkish. Has very little nicotine. Won't bite or get harsh. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace with a consistent, uncomplicated flavor from start to finish. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and needs few relights. Has a decent after taste that slightly lingers. An all day smoke. This is McClelland #2050 Oriental Cavendish Mixture.

This is McC's. #2050 Oriental Cavendish Mixture bulk. While browsing I noticed this had not been reviewed so here's tuppence FWIW. No Latakia in this one, just liberal amounts of Orientals and VA. Cavendish made from Eastern Belt Carolinas w/an underlying base of Black Cavendish. I know this as "Casablanca" and smoked it off and on for a while, but it just didn't seem to have a lot going for it. Smoked fairly clean but the taste was kinda bland. Wee bit o' sweetness here & there but got somewhat sharp as you smoke down the bowl. Could be OK for some as the bulk pricing is good, but given a choice I'd rather smoke #2045 or #2040 as they have varying amounts of Latakia, #2040 being the fullest. The Latakia helps take off the edge you find in #2050. These 3 mixtures are a "special group" created By McC., heat seasoned and topped w/a nut & spice note to supposedly give an appealing aroma. This one just doesn't work for me though. See other reviews listed under #2050.
