While attempting to mimic Dunhills stronger English blends, this one falls flat. It has ample latakia, to be certain, but no balanced sweetness from the virginia's. It has a great tin note, but smokes nothing close to what you would expect.
It loads and packs well, lights fine, and stays that way the whole way down. I am no stranger to latakia blends, but this smoke is one dimensional. The latakia note implies fullness of flavour, but is very tame to the bottom of the bowl. The virginias never seem to make an appearance, leaving you dazed and confused as to what they were trying to accomplish with this blend.
I have been a pipe smoker for 35 years, (strong English & Oriental forward blends and VaPers) but this is simply one of the worst I have ever tasted.
