The aroma from the pouch is a little stronger than the taste of the tobacco. There's a light vanilla note or two playfully merging with the rich cherry topping, which sublimate the tobaccos. The lighter Virginia cavendish provides a little grass and citrus. The brown sugary black cavendish is the more obvious varietal. The strength is a couple of steps past the mild mark, while the taste level is a couple of slots past the center of mild to medium. Has a extremely mild nicotine hit. Won't bite or get harsh. Has no dull moments. The tobacco is a little moist, but really needs no dry time. Burns cool, clean, and a tad slow with a very smooth, consistent sweet and lightly creamy flavor. Leaves little moisture in the bowl. Requires an average number of relights, and will burn to ash. Has a very pleasant after taste, and your friends will enjoy the smell. A fairly dry smoking all day smoke.

This is one of the very few aromatic blends that I like. It smokes cool and has a pleasant, light cherry liquor flavoring: nothing overwhelming at all, like many cherry blends are. It is good to go right out of the jar/baggie or can take a bit of drying if one prefers. It burns well, without a lot of fuss, down to a fine gray ash and it not wet or goopy at all. The room note is much like the tin note (a nice cherry-ish smell) that I can pick up on, which is unusual for me, and lingers a bit. But since it is a pleasant note that is not a negative at all. If you are looking for a pleasant aromatic, one that might remind you of old timers from your fond memories, a non-overwhelming cherry, or a blend that the folks you are around will appreciate, you'll enjoy, and won't bite, I recommend giving this blend a try.

Sutliff - Black Cordial Z50.
It's a very coarse mixture, nicely hydrated, with about 85-15% black to brown. Although it's really coarse, there isn't any twigs.
If I'm honest, when I lit my first bowl I felt unsure as to whether or not I had the right tobacco. At first the cherry topping is hard to notice, but there's an easy to ascertain vanilla flavour. After about a quarter of a bowl the cherries become slightly clearer, but still nowhere near as loud as the vanilla. Mechanically it's faultless: even burn, cool smoke, and no tongue bite.
The room-note pleasant, and the nicotine's mild.
A four star aromatic:
Highly rcommended.

Most cherry related blends have 2 things in common. 1. The pouch aroma does not transfer well to a flavorful smoke. 2. They typically bite...and some pretty badly. Z50 Black Cordial is exceptional on both fronts. It lights up easily and burns well. The cordial topping is present not only in the pouch, but provides a pleasurable smoke from beginning to end. Nicely balanced, zero bite, sweet and very flavorful. I will be getting more of this. Highly recommended for you aromatic lovers.

This is one of those rare aromatics that doesn't smoke wet or bite. Pouch aroma is wonderful and comes through in the smoke. This will definitely come through as a Crowd Pleaser. I don't get a cherry note when I smell this blend, I get Blueberry, perhaps my own odd taste and I certainly do not dispute those who smell a cherry note. If anyone gets a Blueberry note from this blend, please post it here. I'd like to hear your opinion. I bought one pound of this in the original Sutliff bag and it had not been opened by the Tobacconist. Thus, my sampling was not bled-down on aroma, as many samples can get, with repeated opening whilst being sold by the ounce. Something about this aroma is near magical for me and my tastes. One of those fragrances that makes me excited about smoking my pipe every time I smell it. Something like the "Kid at Christmas" feeling. Enjoy!! 4 Stars!!

If you're a fan of heavily-flavored aromatics, then this is definitely a tobacco to consider. This is a rough cut blend that packs very easily. It burned fairly hot and left some dottle in the pipe but that could be down to my technique more than the tobacco itself. Room note is excellent; I doubt you'll hear a complaint from anyone passing by.
You'll taste a whole lot of sweetness (a bit too much for me personally) at the first puff with plenty of cherry & vanilla flavor. This sweetness will stick around for about half of your smoke, but the cherry topping remains detectable all the way to the bottom of the bowl. The cavendish tobacco itself is fairly detectable but definitely not the star of the show, adding some pleasant bitterness & backbone to the cherry flavor.
My personal taste for cherry aromatics has been dampened due to a poor experience with an infamous black cherry OTC blend, but if you really like cherry then this bulk tobacco will fit the bill.

A lovely cherry-chocolate blend with some actual tobacco flavor too. For an aromatic it burnt easily straight from the tin. The flavor lasted throughout the bowl. Very similar to Cult's Blood Red Moon but has a milder tobacco flavor.

I cannot say enough about this tobacco, this one has it all! Wonderful pouch note, a pleasant smoke, with a great aftertaste. It packs well, and although it was a little difficult to get lit, once lit it required no re-lites and just needed to be tamped down a couple of times. A pleasant break from the syrupy cherry blends that dominated the market. No matter how hard I push it, NO BITE. If I could only smoke one tobacco, this would be it!

There are only 3 cherry blends that I have ever enjoyed in my 6 years as a pipe smoker. This is one of them. I wanted to smoke this blend 3 different times in 3 different pipes before reviewing. Each smoke was better than the last. During the first bowl, I sensed more hints of vanilla and the cherry gradually stepped in to play. The next two bowls, the cherry stood out more and vaguely reminded me of a cherry Jolly Rancher. This blend burns extremely well and smokes cool, which is surprising for an aromatic. It does not bite and I would say it is a very well balanced blend. If you are an aromatic smoker and you enjoy cherry, you'll love this blend.

Tastey aromatic. Smells like dark cherries in bag, smokes sweet with taste or mild cherry. Very pleasant room note. Can smoke hot and possibly bite if you're not careful. Tastey smoke! No dottle in my pipe.
