Sutliff Tobacco Company Blue Danube
(2.56)
Aromatic Golden Cavendish with Burley and rich Virginias.
Notes: The scenic Danube is both unique and vast. It is the only major European river which flows west to east, gushing some 1,770 miles through ten countries. Much like the Danube, this Aromatic Golden Cavendish of Burley and Rich Virginias has depth resulting in a distinctively, delicious character.

Sutliff Tobacco Co. - Blue Danube.
Mostly a medium brown mixture. Although it's coarsely cut, none of the pieces are destined for the bin; 100% of the blend's smokeable, without any of it being too coarse, or twiggy. It smells strongly aromatic: mainly sweet.
The rum gives a syrupy sweetness, as well as alcohol sharpness. The vanilla adds a palliative quality, which rounds the smoke off. From the tobaccos there's a sweet honey quality, with some rustic Burley; but not much Virginia. It burns very well, but the smoke can bite me if I'm not careful. Blue Danube gives a smoke that's cool in temperature.
Nicotine: very mild. Room-note: very nice.
I'll happily highly recommend it:
Four stars.

Slightly sweet, slightly tangy with a subtle nutiness to round out the blend. Room note, can't quite put my finger on it but very very nice. This is a good day starter or after dinner smoke (but anytime you've got a craving for BD will do). Great with a cup of coffee or an ice cold root beer (can't figure out which adult beverage this pairs well with). Highly recommended. Excellent blend for the novice pipe smoker.
